Cheapest is about £1.14 a gallon for petrol in your money (don't forget any exchange charges if you are using your card)0 -
We were there about 3 weeks ago and unleaded was abougt £1.13 (euros) which if exchanged at 1 euro being about 88p, it would equate to about £1 per litre - so on par with us really. The tolls (in the south as we flew) were what pushed the price of motoring up there! Diesel is about 88p per litre.0

Does the pumps shows unleaded clearly ? I have a 2002 seat leon so assume just normal unleaded is the same as UK (green pump) also what is needed for the toll roads ? Coins or euro notes? Just not got any coins just notes at the moment..
Thanks for the info on fuel prices....0 -

I'm pretty sure you can't buy unleaded petrol in France. The word for petrol in French is "sans plombe", which means without lead. There are 2 grades of petrol available, 95 and 98 and I've always bought the cheaper one.
You can use notes but you'll get lots of change after the first payage anyway.0 -
Are the tolls expensive then? Any ideas how many i will go through on the route down to Disneyland ?0

Unleaded petrol is 'Sans Plombe' and is clearly indicated at the pumps. I was in France a couple of weeks ago and, due to the exchange rate, unleaded is more expensive there now. I have rarely used the toll roads as the regular motorways, that usually follow the same routes, are heaps better than any road network in the UK. If you have to use the tolls get a collection of 1 euro coins, to chuck in the bucket, from the ferry port.
Have a good trip - and drive safely.
Further to OBW's post - I have an Audi so have to buy the more expensive 98 petrol (it's apparently all to do with octane thingymebob!).0 -
be careful as the petrol pumps are on the other side in FranceLegal team on standby0

I'm in France NOW, where the heck can you get it at 1.13 euro a litre?
it's about 1.30 euro everywhere I know.0 -
Clearly it has gone up even more!!0

Motorways were quite a bit more expensive - we got our petrol at Geant supermarkets - they were much cheaper. It also may be regional?0
