:hello:Hi all, Newbie here.
Got a busy afternoon cleaning and getting the house in some sort of order as OH's DS is coming to stay this evening, So plan is to go right through the house and get the 4 washloads in the WM (Then hide the ironing pile until she has left tomorrow:shhh:)
Then I need to go the shops to pick up some bits for the Chicken and Sweet potatoe casserole, Im going to do for dinner .
Hope you all have a great day, whatever you have planned0 -
Urgh!! Feel pooey!!
That'll teach me that when alcohol has finished its not a good idea to go to the shop in PJ's for more!!! Head hurts!!
Need to do the speaking part of my assesment and then send it off. Will put a washload on (in a minute) won't be hanging up outside as , guess what, yep, its raining again!!
Kids have been to a b'day party in soft play area today - not good with a bad head!! OH isn't home from work yet and thats unusual!! Ooops spoke to soon, here he is! hehe!
Right must get off here then!Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0 -
Afternoon all
Trying to get in to the swing of things now the kids are back at school and I am now working. Am baking treats for the kids lunch boxes such as muffins and lemon drizzle cake and the likes but can I freeze them. Last week I had to bin a few things becuase I felt they were abit stale.
Also made some soup this week so am pretty pleased with myself.February 2013 NSD - 40 -
Afternoon all:j
Busy morning. DD had three friend on a sleepover last night. They were still giggling at 2.00 this morning:eek: As a result, they slept in til midday. I managed to pop into the village to do the banking, dry cleaners, shopping etc and still get back before they woke. Cooked a 'full English breakfast' on the BBQ at 1.00 p.m.:D
Washing blowing madly on the line - switched to Ariel for a change and can really notice the lovely smell.
After the palava (sp?) with the house move, we are going to see a lovely cottage tomorrow. I viewed it about 5 months ago, but it was too expensive. It has dropped in price by about £20000 so may be within our reach now! It's all beams, stone floors and low ceilings but the best bit is - the back garden opens onto fields. Won't the springy spangles love that:T
Performance Management went well - got some new targets to aim for this term. They are are bit of a waste of time really, but govt. says we have to have them:rolleyes:
Bought Mr. T's 3 for £10 chickens this morning along with the mince offer. I don't really like buying unhappy chickens but moving house has cleaned out the piggy bank so needs must at the moment. Will joint it up a la Econ Gast and see how far one will go. (The 'book man' at school has Econ Gast in the box this week for £6 - shall I, or shan't I?)
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Lilli

Evening everyone :hello:
Haven't had time to post today as I've spent it in the kitchen. Don't mind really as the awful weather made going out impossible.
Made mince and onion pie for tonight's tea with enough mixture leftover for another pie for the freezer. Did navarin of lamb for tommorrow and a lasagne for Monday night. Also made enough mash and cabbage for tonight and will have bubble and squeak tommorrow. Have also bunged some in the freezer for fishcakes during the week. Baked 2 dozen choc chip biscuits and a chocolate fudge cake too. That little lot should leave tommorrow free for gardening if the weather iproves. My new (to me) fridge is coming tommorrow so need to reorganise the kitchen a bit for that. Cannot wait to have the retro fridge I've always covetted, and yes I know that is sad
.
OH fell asleep watching a DVD with the littlies earlier so I am drinking his share of the wine.
I'm very jealous of you meeting Hugh Tru. Give him afrom me
.
Well done on finishing your assignment Gert :T.
Good luck with the viewing Lillibet.
Welcome Brighterfuture :hello:
Ruby, you could try THIS with the extra grapes.
Bye for now

Found two romaine lettuces in the fridge tonight. Been there since last Saturday! Bit brown on the outside, so I took off the brown leaves, cut up an onion, and made lettuce soup for dinner, wth HM croutons. Three lots left over to freeze. Well pleased with myself!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Just popped back to say that Penny (our little pooch) is starting to feel better after her op :jshe is still very quiet compared to normal and sore, but the painkillers are helping. Very little os has been done around here, although we have been busy eating up yet more of last weeks left overs (comfort eating in the form of lemon drizzle cake! yum) Hopefully normality (whatever that is) will be resumed soon.
Thanks for all the best wishes and hugs for her :A
Now to catch up on some much needed sleep! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
