    morning all :D

Diva wow your pepper plant is fab , mine is about 6 inches tall with 1 green pepper the size of a tomato :o
is it today your OH will see John Barrowman ? I am as green as my pepper with envy. lol hope its a brilliant night and they raise lots of money

Dmum and Sdad came yesterday had a very pleasant evening drinking too much wine. I roasted a gammon joint for tea (dsdad's favourite) with new potatoes and peas. followed by apple pie. they really enjoyed it. my mum never cooks she always buys pre prepared stuff ( always has - I remember having bucket loads of vestas beef rissotto as a kid ) when I left home I didnt even know how to make mashed potato because we always had 'yeoman dried stuff) if it hadnt been for OH and his mum teaching me I dread to think what we would be eating now

today i need to catch up on the washing , then there is an art and craft event at the botanical gardens in sheffield that I would like to go to

not sure what is for tea, maybe i will go and buy a vestas dried meal just for old times sake :rotfl:
  • Morning everybody,

My lot are busy getting their stuff ready for a morning of sailing.

I shall be baking this morning -some kind of muffins for the lunchboxes next week. I've just realised that we'll be out of fresh fruit by Monday so they'll have to take dried apricots. I might make some little blackberry and apple pies for the lunch boxes:think:

There's washing to hang out as usual and it looks like it's going to be a nice sunny day.

Lunch will be dhal soup. I have loads of lentil and coconut dhal left from last night's curry feast so that will be made into soup with the addition of some stock and a blitz with the blender.

Supper will be lasagne and green beans. Pudding will be little chocolate creams. It's not what I wrote on my meal plan -I knew I wouldn't stick to it:rolleyes:

    Morning :hello:

Who was it that said they had a broken foot? Mr tru has been moaning for 4 months, about his painful foot. I said it's probably a broken bone, but would he go to the GP? Nooooooooo  He finally went at the beginning of the week, the GP said it was probably a broken bone and sent him off for an x-ray :D He'll find out next week.

We went blackberry picking yesterday, picked loads but ate loads on the way home, lol. By the time we got back, we had just under 4lb, so we threw some raspberries in to round it up and made 9 pots of jam . Bought some more seeds too - cress, mustard and broccoli sprouts.

We froze another 4lb of runner beans.

    Help, I need a third freezer :D

Only 8 days til I get to meet HFW :j

Catzine, sorry to hear about Penny, she may not be in pain, it may be the effects of the anasthetic, many years ago when I was a vetinary nurse I remember a lot of animals would whimper for a while, we used to keep them with up until the effects had worn off. Whatever it is I hope she gets better soon.
Loads of OS needed here this weekend, I started work at 7 some mornings & didn't finish til 6 some evenings so very little got done at home. I'm still way behind with my work, hey ho. My room is now properly usable (details on my blog), hopefully I will catch up next week.
It's hubby b'day today, the usual gift was given, only this year accompanied by groans of pain, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning peeps

the washing is outside blowing happily in the wind and the sun is shining, the air is chilly so a typical bright and breezy autumn morning.

My freezer inventory is done and all typed up and i`ve just finished this weeks meal plan. I shall be off to walk the houndies shortly and then take dad to the supermarket for his weekly shop.

I`ve still not managed to sit down and total up last months grocery totals for the August challenge although i think that i do actually have all the reciepts from DH, it`s like pulling teeth trying to get them sometimes and i`ve no idea why they seem to be in so many different places. Chances are there will have been things sneaked into the trolly and put away before i get home and find them

This afternoon weather permitting ineed to spend a couple of hours in the garden as i have lots more tidying to do and some more plant pots to wash and disinfect ready for next year, i may even manage to cut the grass too hopefully. This is the time of year that i really have to concentrate on keeping it short otherwise i end up with mucky doggies and that means even more work.

I`ve been looking through some old curtains that i brought from the last house and i think that i may have a pair that will fit my upstairs spare room window :j they are lined too which is an added bonus. I have various bits of track knocking about in the other spare room but i think that i may ust bite the bullet and get another pole, shouldn`t be too expensive as its only a straight window and not too wide so i shall price some up later.

Diva - your pepper plants are fantastic - really impressive, if you ever do discover which variety they are let us know as i would love to give them a try.

    Mehifin - Great news :j

Hillstep - Glad to hear that you are feeling better

Catznine - ((((HUGS)))) for little Penny, lots of cuddles to reassure her will help and in a few days she will be bouncing around as if nothing has happened. Most of my mogs were the same. If she is still a bit whiney in 5 - 7 days take her back to the vet just to make sure that she hasn`t picked up an infection.

Have a super sunny Saturday everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Morning all

Diva that pepper plant is soooo impressive - I am going to try one next year!

    Sunny here hope it lasts

I wore my sleep monitor in bed last night and had a great nights sleep! Sods law - so will have to wear it again tonight as that is so not typical of my sleep pattern. My DD even said to me that she heard me snoring last night which I don't normally do (or so I say!):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well today I a going bridesmaid dress shopping with DD1 (who is the bride-to-be) DD2 (chief bridesmaid) and her 5 (yes I know but I can't talk her into dropping any of them) other bridesmaids

What are the chances do you think of 6 twenty-somethings all agreeing on one dress when they are all very different in looks, size and temperament :p:D Should be an interesting and fun day, I love being with them all, they have such enthusiasm (sp?)for everything! Perhaps tonight might not be the best night to re-do the sleep monitor either as I am sure that I will be shattered and there may be alcohol involved later:D:D:D We are doing lunch at the wedding venue between appointments at the bridal shops so should be a lovely day!!!!!

Right off to jump in the shower, I am quite excited;) Will read thread later have a great day all

  • Good Morning

I am up early and have been for a swim. I am so glad the sun is back out this morning. Yesterday was horrible, dull, windy and raining all day. I couldn't get warm last night. I am going to enjoy it and go for a walk, maybe I will find some blackberries to pick too (I hope).

The OH is having a sports fest today so I am going to have to entertain myself. I think I will make a start on my christmas cards and list some bits on ebay.

For tea we are having jacket potatoes with philadelphia (half price in Morrisons at the mo) and chilli sauce and some leftover roast chicken and roasted tomatoes (I was given a big bag from my FILs allotment)

Moneysavingdiva - your pepper plants are amazing. Did you grow them in a greenhouse?

Bitsybeans - I never though of freezing peppers. Did you freeze them whole or sliced? What are they like once defrosted?
