I can only reiterate that with the F&F form all you are asking them is: exactly what are you selling me?
Bounce the problem back to the solicitor. That's what you're paying them for.0 -
There is a letter from their solicitor in the post to me which I think states why they are unwilling to provide us with another F&F form.
(surely it would be simpler to fill a two sided form in, than to discuss it with the solicitor and get them to write a letter justifying why they think the first form is ok)
Im dreading the post tomorrow, I think I will try and stay out most of the day so i dont have to read the letter until my husband gets home.
It shouldnt feel like this, I should be happily packing today and looking forward to moving
Thanks for the support. I will wait till tomorrow, alot will depend on what the letter says, then I will get back to my solicitor to see if we have a way forward that we can all agree on.0 -
If you're not happy with their F&F form then tell them to F&F off.0

Thank you poppysarah! I do need to laugh about it!0 -
The form has to be completed one way or the other, as others said it forms part of the contract. Your solicitor should not be exchanging until the forms completed, its not an option.
If they are taking everything fine, but if this is the case they do leave themselves open to you charging them for disposing items left they said they were taking.0 -
It could be as simple as there is not the item listed on the F&F form at the property so its left blank for that reason.
My last house was supposed to include the Koi Carp in the pond but not the light fittings (tatty and needed binning, Vendor wanted £250 for them). On completion I discovered all the fish had gone and all the light fittings had been left.
You then have to ask yourself is it worth pursuing - in many cases no, not that it makes it right.0 -
See, I would. But I'm a bloody minded sod when annoyed, bit like a terrier!
I'm sure there was a box on my form that asked for other items not covered? Was def a section that allowed them to list extra items, as mine had a fair bit in it.
Mine didn't incluse the fish either, despite them saying they'd be there. Hmm....0 -
There are always vendors that will play games.
I think I would tell the EA that you are fedup with these idiots and can you have a list of rental properties to look at,
Might get the message home
That way you can at least do your sale, 6 months in rental is not that bad.
ps, mine left the fish, cats got most of them since.0 -

Ask yourself how they are looking at the F&F for the property they are moving into? Are they being so easy going? I’m willing to bet they’re being fussy.
Re Ulfar’s point: ‘they do leave themselves open to you charging them for disposing items left they said they were taking’, and yours: ‘more likely us having to buy things to replace what we thought they were leaving!’ This is very relevant.
In our case, as a seller, I’ll be a right PITA over our F&F as we want to include a lot of items like the white goods in the price. We definitely do not want to take them with us, and equally we don’t really want the fuss of disposing of things at the last minute. That’s why we’ve held onto the F&F form to be done very late on. We’re going to get them to sign that key items can be disposed of if they don’t want them.
That’s pretty much the opposite to your situation I appreciate, but it’s just as important that they know what they’re getting. I’m not going to entertain any claim for disposal of stuff left, and also the possibility of them claiming for something we disposed of.
Your solicitor must realise how important this topic is. If not, ask him to give you a hundred out of his wallet, as he clearly doesn’t have any problem with money going missing.0
