Do You Make Your Bed Every Morning?

i have a bed linen fetish - all white, only 100% cotton, down topper, duvet and pillows. I love the feel of fresh sheets and line dried laundry. I just don't wash my duvet!
I saw wool duvets on offer in dunhelm but didn't have a tog rating which put me off - don't want dd getting cold! How warm/ otherwise do people find them?
Mine doesn't have a tog rating either.
I would class it about a 9. Too hot for summer, perfect for spring, autumn & mild winter nights. If its really cold I put the throw over too, but I only do that if its snowy cold.0 -
I cant remember what brand topper was! look around on tinternet as some places charge nearly as much for toppers as warehouses do for mattresses! our local fancy goods warehouse allows public in if they pay membership fee £1 each. but i have seen retail outlets charge £69.00 for what looks like same topper . best shop around hun. its made a big difference to nights sleep for what is very small sum!0

What are these warehouses?0 -
My bed is currently made up of bottom sheet, top sheet, blanket (encased in old duvet cover to keep it clean - so I never need to clean that), summerweight duvet (in cover), autumn weight duvet (in cover) and bedspread over the lot. I throw off layers from the top down - as I get too hot. To me - thats the easiest way to ensure minimum cleaning and the temperature I want in t'bed.
I must be hot stuff :rotfl:. I use a summer duvet (4.5 tog) ALL year round, and used to have the window open every night too. Now I live in a city I have to keep the window shut (too many merry revellers at 3 in the morning....) and I'm boiling.0 -
its a wholesale fancy goods warehouse. they started letting in public for membership fee (£1) about 5 years ago. look on net or in local yellow pages under warehouse. some warehouses are open to public others its for retail only. oops should have said - look under wholesalers!!! sorrryyyyyy0

be careful though - prices in mine you have to add vat to and owner is a !!!!!! if you want to return anything!!!
saying that - the local shops must get their stuff there cos if i see anything i want i check in warehouse - saved a lot of money on ornaments etc for pressies as shops dont half mark them up!0 -
I need someone to explain about this mattress topper business. I've seen them in Ikea but I'm not sure why I might need one. Do they make the bed softer underneath you or warmer, or both?
I've always wanted to know what happened to my German granny's linen sheets after she died. They were given to her when she married in about 1920 and had been laundered so many times they were silky-soft. Goodness only knows what they would cost nowadays *sigh*0 -
I have a pocket sprung mattress which has a layer of latex on top. I used to have a pocket sprung with memory foam on, but I found that it was a bit too warm. I have also had foam with memory foam on - not a good combination for someone heavy - you find you slowly sink into them as they warm up, and then struggle to turn over.0

Hmmm...well my definition of bed heaven is a Myers mattress and a feather mattress topper - pure "sink into" luxury...
(reckon you could do both a king-size bed and feather mattress topper for not more than £800?)
On a different topic - ironing bedding...whatever next? (joking...). I only iron clothes - bedding/towels/teatowels never get ironed. Think thats possibly part of the reason why i got a "you must be joking" response from a fuel comparison website the other day (currently investigating which fuel company to be with again.....). I put in how much my fuel bills are at present and got a response coming up of the "you must be joking" nature. The site told me my fuel usage couldnt be right - it was too low....heh!0
