actually it did look lovely by time i moved out! and getting into bed at night and snuggling..........in a nest of feathers ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh happy days - or rather nights! still it took me best part of 20 minutes to make that ruddy bed in morning until i worked out you had to push all the feathers into a lump in middle then sort of imitate the cat and knead and push them out into edges!!! and NOT try to shake it up like a duvet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Just personal choice for me really, although I have to admit, it took a few nights to get used to the feather duvet as everytime i turned round it made such a noise I kept waking myself up lol!!

Till the Pure New Wool duvet, I've only ever had feathers/down, but I love the wool now & I would go back.
I want to get a very light silk one for summer, I like natural sheets & duvets on top of me.

lol know what you mean - mine crackles too. imagine having one over six inches thick underneath - was great when you got into it but in morning specially if OH was a bit active in night - i would swear they hadnt plucked chickens before stuffing mattress!
  • Oh I didnt know that, mine is kind of pocketed so they dont all fling into one corner, guess i just got lucky when i bought it as I didn't think of that happening as yes I do kind of shake it round like a demented jack russell in the morning, turn it down half way for a couple of hours then make it perfect so that I can see it in all it's diviness as I pass the room for the rest of the day.

a real feather mattress is really just one big huge bag filled with feathers - you try to shake it and they all end up at one end. my OH and me had endless fun making the ruddy bed up - god knows what uncle thought we were up to!!!
  • The bed is a divan which I love as its reallllly high when dressed but the mattress is horrid and making me miserable, its a Kozee sleep orthopedic and feels like Im sleeping on a paving slab, I need to do something to sort it out, either a new mattress or a nice topper, just not sure which as xmas is on the way.
