You only hoover once every 2 months!!! heck! can I come and live with you, I have to sweep the darn kitchen floor about 5 times a day as our pugs shed like no ones business!!!!

I don't have any pets and I don't wear shoes in the house. Hoovering gets done when I can be bothered (never looks dirty). On average I think I:

clean the kitchen worktops/cooker once a week
    hoover every 2 months
clean the bathroom every 3 months
    maybe dust every 6 months

I've never washed curtains or blinds and I get the windows cleaned every 2 months

house never seems to get dirty. There are a lot of spiders though so maybe they're eating all the dust!
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair

jeez thriftkitten wish i had known you and your victorian bed fetish when i first got married......I would have been happy to relieve you of your cash for:- a genuine victorian brass bed (badly tarnished and the base was so stretched it looked like a boat!) complete with genuine.............feather mattress! ohhhh for the luxury of a modern divan. I hated that bed with a passion! It took me months to get the brass gleaming and no-one told me the easy(er) way to make up a feather mattress I learned the hard way! by the way - it wasnt my bed.....we lived with OHs uncle in his grandparents home and the bed had belonged to them. uncle had a lovely new slumberland bed!
  • I always make the bed as soon as I get up. I never thought of airing it. Oh dear.

I'm the same, I never used to, OH got me into the habit when we moved in together. I also iron the bedding now, never used to...
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!

Now I am seriously worried about the feelings of your hoover and cleaning materials. To spend all that time shut away in cupboards without being brought out to be used must be heartbreaking for them. Poor, poor things.... So, what I suggest is I bring you my three children who just love to generate dust, dirt, mud and general mess, so that your hoover and cleaning materials can feel loved and needed again.

    Sorted! :D

Oh wow, I feel so relieved as I thought I was the only one with a thing about my bed and linen etc, I have 3 kids, (one foster child and 2 of my own) and feel like my life revolves around housework, my only sanctuary is my bedroom, I am crazy about my bed, I love high beds and sumptious bedding all white or ivory if poss, I love victorian sheets and vintage bedding, getting into a bed that has a generic fibre filled duvet and unmatching bedding would feel almost criminal hahaha!! If that makes me boring then oh well, You cant beat the feeling of crisp white sheets, feather duvet at the end of the day.
I also collect vintage eiderdowns if anyone has one in great condition in their airing cupboard I would bow at your feet and make you a delightful offer in order to relieve you of it lol xx

    Friend for life:D
My bed is superhigh & I have a pure new wool filled duvet with white EGYPTIAN cotton bedding;););)
My pillows are not feather though I changed to Tempur (traditional shape) about a year ago, they are fab:beer:
  • The bed sounds divine and nothing some brasso and a matress topper couldn't of sorted out, would of been a delight to make everyday..
