    LOL good on ya!
Its not nice to be copied especially with such a huge thing like a wedding.. a couple of things maybe like flowers for example... but the whole bloody thing?? no.
  • Oh you so have my sympathy. I felt mad for you. I would defo send out the STD cards (oh! I now get the chlamydia joke!! Doh!) I can't believe that people can be like this. I told my very close family I was looking for a venue for next July/Aug and my sister decided to book a holiday abroad in July without even mentioning it to me or asking me what dates I had decided on. She has also suddenly decided she's going to get married but says she cannot afford it although it's all she talks about to me and doesn't ask a thing about mine.
I really can't believe people's behaviour once they know your getting married. I can only think it's the green eyed monster coming through.

Anyway she obviously has no design ideas of her own so it'll be not a patch on yours however much she tries to nick your style. Good luck and try not to let her get to you.

Oh I know how you feel, some people can be so nasty....I sent out the invitations for our wedding (we got engaged christmas day) and about a month later got invitations from my OHs friend that were pretty much identical to ours so I was not happy (never liked her from beginning...involved come join me in bed texts to my OH, Meet me for coffee before your banned from seeing me for life and then final straw on day of wedding 'she doesnt deserve you'' text to my OH)
Luckily every idea she trid to steal from us looked rubbish coz she couldnt get ir right and didnt even try properly.
Do what you guys want to do and if she copies let her... everyone will see her for what she is and she will just look silly and immature

  • It must be irritating, but they say that immitation is a form of flattery, maybe she just admires what you've done & in the time frame she has wants to cut corners. Personally I wouldn't want to copy someone elses whole day as it wouldn't be personal to us. Try not to think about it, if she's in the early stages of planning she might change her mind about some things anyway & don't tell her any more of your plans! Of the things you have told her - maybe tweek them so they're not the same? Even if she's using the same companies - they will have different suits/dresses/cakes, so maybe you should show some interest in her planning if just to make sure you don't have the same ones!

I would send out the STD cards quickly, and next time shes being smug console yourself that you won't be covering a baby bump in your dress so will look a lot prettier on the day!

  • Hi emlou,

My daughter is having mango lillies as her flowers and I was browsing through the postcards on Vistaprint and found the ideal pic (although you can upload your own). Here's the finished product, 100 free we only paid for postage and they arrived within a week.

Personally I would get revenge :D. Check out the most horrendous dresses/suits/bouquets/venues/decorations etc on the web, show her and say how wonderful they are and see if she 'takes the bait' but don't tell her anything else about what you are doing for your wedding ;). Hopefully her day will be tackyville and you can put on a fantastic bash later!

Seriously though, does it really matter? You have different families so they won't see her wedding, your shared friends will know the truth and you will still have a fantastic day without her to ruin it.
