You're very welcome Buffy hun - I wouldn't say it if it were not true.
By the way, I thought of your sig while I was running on Tuesday - I couldn't quite remember it word for word, but the general sentiment kept me going when I wanted to stop."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

The sig is very handy for those I can't moments. I think I might put it up in my classroom!

And just think of all those kids who are excited about you being their teacher for the next year!
It's true that you never forget your favourite teachers.

I would bet my £2 coin collection that you have made an impression on many kids. You will be the teacher they can name years down the line.
For me it was my old music/drama teacher. She was the one who believed in me when everyone else told me to take a typing class. When you're a kid it doesn't matter if you will actually make it in your chosen path, it's about someone having faith in you.
Years later our paths crossed in a really unlikely way. I went to a friend's funeral about 100 miles away and she was the vicar doing the service. I'd heard she'd left teaching but didn't know she'd joined the church when women got ordained. I spent ages chatting with her after the service and invited her to a gig a couple of weeks later. I was so nervous, more so than when I'd had anyone else on the guest list. She took my hands after the gig and said 'I always knew'.
She passed away a couple of years ago from ovarian cancer. I'll never forget her.:A

Talking of Jas. I took her to the hospital the other day to see the ENT guy. She's on the list to have her tonsils out :T They said it would be 6 to 8 weeks. I know it means another 2 weeks off school but I'm so relieved we won't go through another year like this one has been.:A

For me it was my middle school geography teacher, Mr Kelly.
He was also an icecream man and played the guitar which was always in the classroom.
Many times the lesson would just become a singalong session.
This wonderful man died of cancer in the 80's.
I'll never forget him.

Good news about Jas Toto.
Your teacher story brought a little lump to my throat.
Am feeling slightly emotional though because Mr Sunday just flirted with me massively, and I am so happy - really thought he would back off a lot this week, but things are good."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
