    OP Zorber,

    What is your credit limit?

Everyone is doing a good job a slagging tescos...mind if I ask what the benefits of the credit card are? and the clubcard plus?? which I haven't seen an application form for for years now. I thought it was discontinued.

I have a tesco platinum card i think the limit is £3500 but rarely spend £600 per month on it.
there are alsorts of benifits but as i pay off in full every month it is only the club card points that interest me. 1 point for every 2£ spent out side tescos and 2 points for every £1 spent in tescos or something similar

Well, I signed up for the Savings account (only put £1 in because I don't intend to use it) and now when I log in to My Accounts, the screen is different and instead of giving my credit card balance, it has a button to click for credit card servicing. Having gone into that and set up the security details they wanted, I can now see my transactions online. Apparently I'll be able to do more (perhaps payments etc?) once I receive a Mailing Authorisation Code from them in the post.

The only downside of this is that now by balance doesn't show up in Egg Money Manager any more. Maybe once Tesco introduce the full online credit card functionality for all users, not just those with a Tesco Savings account, Egg will update their system to use it.

May I add that Tesco's Credit Card Site is worse than useless! It doesn't give anywhere near enough information about your transactions. just a balance!!!

Not true, you can now register for full account activities. I have ...see here
    http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/register_insecure/home.do

It says "Log onto Tesco Credit Card online."

I've done it, I don't have a savings account, I can see all my transactions.

Edit: When you register for this service you have to wait to be sent a pin number for access to your account, for security I assume.

I think all the racist comments about their "UK masters" are particularly amusing as Tesco credit card is done by RBS who only have UK call centres so these "indians you shouldnt be trusting" according to some people here are actually based in the likes of Southend-on-sea or Leeds. But I guess to the type of people who makes these comments it is the colour of their skin that is the problem and not actually where in the world they happen to live.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but more and more credit card companies detect 'unusual' spending patterns. If you have consistently spent small amounts and suddenly a single large transaction comes through they may query it (which is by popular demand of some customers). I used to have a card like this and the answer is simply to phone them up before hand and tell them you are going to be making a large electrical purchase.

We are crying out for fraud prevention measures but similarly we complain when they impact what we are trying to do.
