Dont forget you can nominate some numbers on tesco PAYG and get half price calls to them.

As others have said, Tesco Mobile is fine unless you use mobile data, which is horrendously expensive -- £4/MB compared to 20p/MB on ASDA Mobile.

I rang Tesco Mobile today to get my PAC code (switching to ASDA because I do want to use the web on my phone).

The customer rep I spoke to (trying to persuade me to change my mind) said Tesco is planning a new rate for mobile data, starting next month -- £2 per week for unlimited use. May be of interest to some.

If you call 0844 / 0845 / 0870 numbers Tesco Lite only charges 8p a minute to call them.

Asda charge up to 35p a minute to call 0844/0870.

Be aware that unused 'free' credit expires after a month, and you can only have one lot of 'free' credit a month.

So if you don't use it, it expires. If you use it, you are back to paying 20ppm. Unless you use *exactly* the 'correct' amount each month, you will pay more than 10ppm.


This is still a reasonable deal, because of the 5 half price numbers. But it isn't as good as it may first appear.....
