Who to swap to?

Options
Im moving shortly to an area that according to samknows only has ADSL.

Ive looked at one of these comparison sites - and it comes up with BT or Talk Talk or ORange - any one recommend one over the other?

There were some others but they were really expensive

Thanks

Hi we have been on Tisculi for a number of years now with ADSL modems with very little problems, but we are just changing over to the post office , not because of problems with Tisculi but because Talk Talk now own them and they are a nightmare. But so far the post office have been very helpful , we needed a wired modem as this old computers not wi-fi, and the modem thats on the £20.50 (for phone & b/band) is wired so its our best option , Don't think this really answers your question but is just a idea of a company to maybe worth checking out.

Tiscali and TalkTalk have always been the worst ISPs to go to....
  • I must say I found TalkTalk OK when we had them in my second year house at uni - well, apart from them deciding not to tell us that we didn't have a phone line and so they couldn't connect us to the Internet, but hey ho...

Haven't had either of the others or know anyone who has so can't comment otherwise.

OP, there are no LLU suppliers available on your exchange, so any BB service is going to be a BT Wholesale service resold, with similar pricing for all.
Depends what you want, for example what is your average monthly data usage, as many of the non LLU services are capped services?

But all wireless routers can be used wired (with an ethernet connection), they're not 'wireless only'.

Leaving your broadband 'on' does not use any data. Heavy data usage is for things like downloading music, downloading or streaming videos (e.g. BBC iPlayer), online gaming, etc.
Just checking your email and surfing uses relatively little, you would probably find 2-5GB enough in this case.
