Is it just me or does the UK not come up?0 -
I think it must be just you! I entered Birmingham as a test plus set Country/Territory to United Kingdom and a number of outlets came up. Mind you, some for Bournemouth came up to, so I don't think it's perfect LOL I didn't try a strret address though.

I take that back. It now is only going down to equador for some reason. Try this http://www.westernunion.co.uk/info/homePage.asp?country=GB&origination=US and go to Agent Locator at the top of the page.

O.K. That's not working now - I think there must be a problem with the system - as I said it worked earlier on. I guess you could email them?0 -
Personally I'm getting fed up with buyers who don't read an auction. If you didn't state you would accept Western Union (and you couldn't as it is now banned on ebay uk) then just refuse. It is the buyers fault that he has lost money, it might concentrate his mind in future when bidding.
If you don't live next door to a WU outlet that means you will have to travel to your local one, queue up, sort it all out, do you really want to be bothered by that?

Thanks I got it, there are plenty of places near me in the town centre. I think I'll be going somewhere like Cash Generator or Cash Converter.0 -

I state Paypal only in my payment instructions but if a sale is possible and theres a chance I will get the money then i'll do it. I am not confident that this buyer would find another way to pay me so I don't want to lost my 90p listing fee

You need to be sure that you get the payer's name exactly right. WU are very fussy and the slightest error is likely to cause them to refuse paying. I had an awful time with wasted journeys and phone calls to check names, but as a seller it is absolutely guaranteed as you end up with cash in your hand - it's the buyer who takes the risk that you are honest.0

So do I need to wait until I get the paperwork through the post or do I just take this number hes given me and try to get cash from that?0 -
To be honest, if you didn't say you'll take WU (and you can't, it's against ebay rules stated here ) then why would the seller pay by that method without asking you first.
It does seem a little dodgy to me, and to be honest I'd tell them it's paypal or NPB strike. That is your right as a seller. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
But theres no need for that, his obviously a newbie, and there cant be anything dodgy unless you dont know anything. As long as you colelct the money and its in your hands what the problem? in a way its better than paypal, where they canndo a chargeback and charge fees. In this one case, its alright, but for everyday use Paypal is the better option.0
