    i would to be honest.

You're selling something that has been sold by a charity as a means of raising much needed funds. Sold in good faith to the seller, they are not a wholesaler who will source you with products for you sell on.

The buyer of the £7 red nose was probably unable to get one themselves from the shop or too lazy. (I presume you can't buy them online?)

The £1 that the Red Nose day fund wanted still went to charity and the buyer was happy to pay over the odds for it. Everyone happy.

but why is he even putting that item up in the first place? It must have run through his mind, "maybe this isnt quite right, i shouldnt be selling this".

I sold an empty box for £17+ as it had all the original manufactureres details on it, all genuine, well thanked for. As for selling an old red nose, for heavens sake how pompous and self righteous can one become?? How far does "charity" supposedly reach? Some how it's better to not buy the 2nd hand red nose, even though by showing it around, your chums may be more inclined to buy a new one and contribute to the charity even if only for their (doubtful, but maybe in the future ) gain??

No it does not make you bad, your staying one step ahead. And also giving charity shops a returning trade which inturn helps thos who need it. As long as your putting a couple of pennies in the jar on each visit thats enough I think to keep the consience clear!

I don't think reselling charity items is a problem. The auction I vist usually have lots of charity inspired items for instance the Royal Doulton breast cancer figure. These are traded by dealers just like any other item.

There is no suggestion there that buying or selling these Royal Doulton items, or the Princess DI plate (originally for her charity) is immoral.

If he had got 20p for the red nose would it still have been bad? and where in old fashioned laws does it say anything about this? perhaps you should join the "pompous" club instead (Tribals Words not mine! :) )

If you have a few things lying around your purchased from a charity shop or from a charity I bet you would sell them..... Do you even buy red noses??

    anyway ahem.....

I purchased a coffee pot for £3.50 from a charity shop ....(WHOOOPS! ) and sold it for £156.00 as I didn't like it when I got it home! Didn't know what it was worth .....maybe I should have just returned it for a refund....
