Just for a little information. I think goodoldgold will price match their signature Ideals with other vendor's Signature Ideals. Whiteflash will also price match their ACA's against other vendor's Signature Ideals.
Whiteflash are also having a 10% discount of all settings when purchasing an ACA.
Every little bit counts in this environment!

I would like to see a stone with X X both on polish and symmetry.
Its also important to make sure the stone is eyeclean. Which means both you and the vendor should be on the same page as to what you term "eyeclean". How do you or the person wearing the diamond view diamonds. I view diamonds at 1 hands length or closer. I'm a bit nuts..My computer is under a fluorescent light in an alcove in my study. Sometimes I turn the light on just look at my diamonds!.....LOL Some view diamonds at elbows length. Make sure there are no carbon spots staring right back at you from dead smack bang in the middle of the table!
I found this stone. I will go off and try to find more. May be stumpjumper can help me out on this one!

with 10% off your setting.
I'm sure that goodoldgold and the other online vendors have a few other goodies too!

Appreciate the ACA may be a little high for your intended budget....
How bout this ?

I'm not sure whether this is Jamesallen's stone or whether any of the online vendors could memo it in for you.
USD$2,000 mentioning pricescope discount.

That looks fine, from a numbers point of view. I wouldnt be saying no to that one.
Certainly if looking for an accross the board thing of Ex polish and symmetry - but sometimes it cant be achieved with some diamond on the polish due to the way the diamond is formed. This isnt a bad thing, just a byproduct of diamonds being a natural substance. it wont detract from the look of the stone in anyway.
SI1 - you should be ok depending on the positioning of the inclusions - if your buying online, ensure you have a good and clear returns period incase it doesnt meet up to your expectations (most reputable online vendors will allow you a period to view the stone and return for a full money back if your not happy) if your buying in store have a good close look, ask to borrow a loupe and see if you can spot the inclusions, then see if you can still see them without the loupe.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0 -
Be careful when looking at buying loose stones. I too spent a lot of time on Pricescope and found out that it can be very difficult to get insurance for loose stones to be sent back to the USA. It makes it a very risky business to get something shipped over from the States and having to send it back without being fully insured.
I didn't actually try and get insurance, it was something that I noticed repeated several times on the forums.0 -
Good point JoeyEmma.
alot of courior firms will not insure a loose stone, 1 or 2 will - USPS (and its compardre in the UK, Parcelforce, but that needs checking with the Post Office) will insure a loose stone for delivery.
vendors will send via FedEx and other couriors because they have their own 3rd party insurance policy that covers upto $75,000
for us consumers its worth remembering that UPS will carry and insure a diamond set perminantly in a peice of jewellery (ie a ring) for loss or damage.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0
