HDMI Cable, Best For The Price!

Hi Chaps

Not posted on here for ages.

Just bought a Samsung LE32B530 1080p LCD and the Samsung DVD1080P9 player to go with it and had to buy a HDMI cable for the first time. Having bought interconnects before I knew what a mine field it was going to be, so when I spotted a great cable at 7dayshop.com I bookmarked the page so that I could buy it when i'd got something to use it on!

It's a Konig 24k plated HDMI cable sold here for £14.99:http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5&products_id=106044

Here is the 7dayshop blurb from the page:
For the money, this has to be one of the nicest looking cables we have ever seen! Thick, braided mesh outer core, finished with a distinctive yellow hoop and super heavy 24k Gold connectors.
These cables fully support HD all the way up to and including 2160p, they are also certified and will satisfy even the most critical of viewer!
We have seen big 'branded' cables sell for nearly 5 times the amount of these! Do yourself a favour and see the difference.

The build quality is absolutely fantastic and its a 1.3c Spec (wikipedia HDMI) cable which is even better. In my meagre opinion it's the best cable about for the money. The picture is stunning, although I had nothing to compare it to I must admit. This post is really for those who don't want to waste silly money on the cables that are being sold at currys, dixons, pc world and the like but still want a good cable and don't know where to start.

Oh, I didnt buy mine from 7dayshop in the end, I got mine from a chap on Ebay for £12.99 delivered the next morning. Just search for HDMI Cable 24k Gold 1.5m HD V1.3c LCD Blu Ray Sky PS3 on ebay, sold by gazglasgow cant fault the chap (and no I dont know him!)

Hope this helps at least one person

Thanks but its a waste of money spending £15 on a hdmi cable you dont need it for most peeps

I know this supports latest spec and goes up to WQXGA 2560x1600 but most tvs dont need that

"The Gadget Show on Channel 5 proved this a couple of weeks ago where they compared a £5 cable to a £112 cable - there was no difference in picture or sound quality at all!"

Of course I understand that its digital and shouldn't make any difference as zero's and one's but as with anything, there are differences in how the cable is made, to quote: The better cables will have less internal resistance, generate less of their own 'electrical noise' and also have better screening from interference. They will also be mechanically stronger

If i've just spent £370 on a TV and £50 on DVD player (all 1080p) im not going to spend £2.50 on an Aldi special that maybe only HDMI 1.0...all im saying is that if you want a good "quality" cable instead of the widely available cheapies then this is a great buy....it's only £12.99 after all....you spend more than that on a curry!

I totally agree - with regards to the MoneySaving aims of this site, it's a complete waste of £10 to spend £15 on an HDMI cable. That's not to say that it's not a good price for this particular cable, but it's well above the level of what most people need.
