Thanks so much for all your suggestions... keep em coming!
I've been to Thailand, Scandanavia, NY, Egypt, done Rome + Sicily, done Alps, Middle East... Africa for some reason has never really appealed to me. Galapagos sounds amazing, but HOW MUCH!? ;-)
xxForeign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

I've lived in most places, but never been to the north pole! It would be very interesting, I'd definetely do it!0

A few years ago we went to Hong Kong, Singapore and Bali. The first 2 were amazing but Bali was a bit of a let down. We stayed in amazing hotels, were met at the airport by drivers etc. We booked it through igloo.com and the travel company were somak, who I'd never heard of, but they were fantastic http://www.somak.com/
I would choose somewhere different than Bali, maybe go to Oz after Singapore.
Good luck0 -
Never heard of anyone going to the North Pole. A friend went to the South Pole and loved it. She is quite outdoorsy and although I could see it was interesting, it didn't really appeal to me.
That's a good list of places so far!
Where did you like best and why? (The intention being that that will help make suggestions.)0 -
Galapogas is probably your budget but each not for both of you. You could slim it down to £3k each or maybe £2.5k at a push.
What things do you like to do? Are you a beach person? Would you want to go somewhere different to the normal holiday because you've got the spends to do so? That is, I'm a beach hol person but there's loads of places I would like to see for sightseeing/inspirational reasons that the money hasn't allowed me to do in the way I would want to do it.0 -
USA - national parks and canyons please

There are trips to the North Pole - by Russian ice breaker out of Murmansk. About £15000, each... ) http://www.discover-the-world.co.uk/en/holidays/high-arctic/north-pole/index.html
I can recommend the company though - their Spitsbergen trip is excellent0 -
Queenstown, New Zealand........it will blow U away !0

I'd love to go to Ecuador as it's a small country with so much to see (I can't take time out to 'go travelling') - the Andes, Amazon, beaches and the beautiful cities of Quito and Cuenca. I'd then get a flight on to Angel Falls in Venezuela or Iguazu Falls on the Argentinian/Brazilian border.
South East Asia's also at the top of my list - sampling the gorgeous foods in different countries!0 -
