  • 37 is ok! Agree its wise to start trying sooner rather than later as you don't know how long it may take for you to fall.

I really wish you the best of luck as you seem a lovely person.

  • been another quiet week in Lurker world
Am up to 15 NSDs & shouldn't spend anything more for the month, so looking good to be able to declare 16 for February.

waitin gfor £38 from flogging a mobile, have 3 packages @ musicmagpie & am hoping the quidco payment this month will be healthy.

Have done 11 hours over time this month (used to do that in a week!!) so will have 16.5hrs extra pay in March. am trying not to get used to the extra, as it may not continue much longer.

Mr Lurker & I NEED to lose weight. Portion control isnt working on its own so we started investifating the local council gym......& were so very close to signing up....but we didn't. Yet. we've agreed to go swimming a couple of times a week (which will mess up NSDs) because we can at least do that together....hope we see some results quickly as our bellies are taking over!

Session times cause a bit of an issue with eating though so have attempted to work meal plan around quick food.

MrT has won another battle to releive me of more of my cash than I wanted! Went armed with my list with meal plan in mind. 6 unlisted items jumped into the trolley, 3 could have been left to anothe time, 2 should have been on the list but had been missed. the last was a tin of sweetcorn to add something extra to my lunches for the week.
I ought to be able to come in under budget again for the month, but not by much.

I am at a loss to know how to win this battle, am not buying loads of branded stuff any more, its mostly normal own label with a few bit of value thrown in, cook most things from scratch these days (even ventured into chow meins & currys)

    hey ho!

hi lurker it is nice that you have positive plans.

I think if you want a mini-lurker I would go for it now... I had my first at around 27 and my second at 32. I got caught straightaway with my first and it took 8 months of trying with my second... Having said that my mother got caught out with an accidental baby at around 38 so everyone is different...!

  • beleive me, we do fluctuate about holding off even for just a couple of months......and its very tempting....very very tempting......but I know I'd be extra stressy about money (especially as I know the money problems a girl who started work with me had due to being pregnant - defaulting on a different bill each month etc)

trying for 8 months is fine by me....all that practice;)....

slap my wrists its been a while!!

Mr Lurker & I invested in a monthly swim pass each & by the end of this week will have saved money doing it that way rather than pay for individual sessions - we're going 3 times a week which is knackering but getting slightly easier each time. on the downside Mr Lurker has gained 2lbs! we may have to rely on the tape measure instead of the scales...

Swimming has had an unexpected bonus though - Mr L is now quite keen on my meal plans!!! He's not a fan of choosing what to eat days in advance, but as the meal plan means we're eating about 15-20 minutes after getting back from the pool, he's offering suggestions! woohoo

Last night was spag bol (sauce made sunday) tomorrow is chowmein (veg all chopped and in the fridge).

Came in £4 overbudget for Groceries & that can be put down to Mr S having coffee on offer! I think I'm going to keep the receipts for the next month & see exactly what I'm buying. I do intend to do a seperate toiletries shop this month as I think buying cleaning stuff seperate last month helped.Superdrug seems to be well priced with decent range of goodies, just a pity they don't have loyalty card...but I guess that would just bump up the prices.

off to check the bank account - having seen scary program about chip n pin machines, this is even more a daily job!!!

Why thank you! but funnily enough I don't think I'm good enoughwith the budgeting - standard comment on the report car - must try harder!!

There's very little room in the budget & while I've got a bit left over of my redundancy money, I'd rather not use that for day to day living

I have booked a coupleof days off work next month & hope to spend one of them shopping. I have 2 gift cards and a voucher begging to be spent - hopefully by then I will have lost a few inches....not that I'm seeing any results from the swimming - its been 3 weeks so think something should have budged by now...
