  • just to let folk know i received my 32 inch toshiba tv yesterday - 7 days after i posted my second bill (as per instructions) to them - Ive also had my quidco cash paid for both the orange sim and the contract.

I wont be bothering with the extra tenner cashback as its over 4 'events' and itll cost more in postage - cant win em all.

my mate also got his 32 inch tv - strangely a sharp and not a tosh.

I did ring 2 days after i sent my bill to make sure they had everything - probably a good idea for all deals like this  -

    Pretty well all good.

What do you mean "its over 4 events" mate?
  • Sorry - i would need to send something like my first 5 bills, then the next 2, then the next 2 etc to get £2.50 each time to a total of a tenner (4 events ) - ive got to pay £1 for paper bills and then the postage so not worth it. - My mate got similar with £40 cash back - not even sure if he is going to bother. Tmobile automatically put you onto online billing and we've fallen foul of these not being accepted in the past (different company) . - Did you get the quidco as well ?

Might be worth checking the T&C's mate - for "simple cashback claims" you just need to send in your "first paid" bill.

I am the same as you and your mate, I get £25 cashback and I phoned to confirm and they said to me it was the first four bills and I challanged that and she went away and came back saying "oh yes you're right, send in your first "paid" bill"

I am guessing you didn't get the cashback claim form they are supposed to send you either?

I think this company are dodgy and i'll never see my cashback but if they promised it then I'll damn well fight for it.

Oh and printer e-bills (printed at home by you) should be fine too - they may argue not but if you complain it should work out.

Maybe not worth all the hassle for you over £10 but for your friend over £40...

Wish I'd seen this before I tangled with them. I went for their 3 sim card as follows:

Get a 3 SIM Card and enjoy free texts and internet with every top-up
For every order placed, we'll send you up to two 3 SIM Cards, one for you and one for your friend. Take advantage of the exclusive 3 offers and enjoy loads of free benefits.

So I asked for 2 and the screen said 'all this for £2.50'. Great, I thought. £1 quidco cashback, can't be bad. Filled in details and suddenly, no confirmation screen, but I had bought two at £5!! Sent e-mail to customer services, no reply. Rang 0800 sales number, just got cut off (three days running). No intention of trying 0870 number. Oh well, me thinks, especially as quidco tracking at £2, four for £3 is not bad. Except they have just come and I have two sim cards for £5 and no free ones as promised.

Am now going to write to them, but beware (a) no chance to check order before they grab payment and (b) impossible (or possibly just expensive) to get in touch with them.

Picasso, it's only 2 sims per household, so you wouldn't have been able to get 4 anyway. I also purchased this offer, and read it as up to two sim cards (per household as it states when adding to basket)

Anyhoo, don't forget to register for your £10 top up per sim :)

We seem to have read this differently. For me it is clear that it is £2.50 for the sim and therefore if you want two that would be double the price. It also states you are only allowed two per household and the form will only allow for this. So there is no promise as you claim above.
Admittedly I have had trouble on some occasions with the 0800 number but I have also got it on others. The only number you have to ring is an 0845 to register. I fonnd them good when I had to query things so I have to give them a thumbs up.
I dont like to criticise others usually when they complain but this time I do think you are being one sided in your arguments.
  • Hi folks,
I'm in the market for a new mobile/contract and have stumbled across affordablemobiles.co.uk

Seeing them offer the same tariffs as elsewhere, but with an added "free gift" of things like Nintendo Wii, iPods of various flavours and so on has made me somewhat suspicions. My "too good to be true" alert is at DEFCON 3 at the minute and my "no-such-thing-as-a-free-lunch-o-meter" is making a bit of noise too.

So, has anyone used this company before?
Are they a reputable bunch or is it "too good to be true" and run by con-artists?

I've seen reviews which have been, in general, rather positive... but I can't help thinking "anyone could have written them!". I know one thing for sure - if I wanted to run a scam, I'd post a few positive reviews up to make it look legit! Haha.

Anyway, if anyone can let me know about any dealings you've had with the company, good or bad, it would be a big help.

    All the best!

  • You can safely ignore the above post.
I hadn't found this thread in my searches so posted my previous message as a new thread. A moderator clearly merged it with this thread so now it looks like I'm the sort of idiot who doesn't bother reading a thread before asking a question that's been answered over and over in it already. Stoked!

Anyway, it's clear enough that I won't be using this company.

    Cheers.

I just recievd an email from then saying my otder had been dispatched!

But I've never been on the website, emailed back to say. I've never been on the site and that my email address should not be used on any orders.

Got an email straight back asking for my Name and address.

Very dodgy scam if you ask me.
