    Morning all,

I had a very productive day yesterday, I got 4 loads of laundry done :D Thanks to now having 2 washing lines to dry on, some new pegs at a bargainous £1.20 from the local hardware store & some excellent weather, I dont have to do any today so can just fit the ironing in whenever it suits me :)

I've always hated having to spread the laundry over 2 days, so as long as the weather gods contintue to provide excellent weather on saturdays then I will be a happy laundering lula :rotfl:

I decide that we would shop locally this week to keep down the costs & leave car safely tucked away. Spent £ 9.59 in the chemist on bits & pieces, then noticed the craft shop is closing down :( so opooed in & got a load of card making bits for half the usual price - christmard cards now sorted ;).

Then we went in to the co op & I managed to get all the grocery bits I needed for the week & some very bargainous stuff it was too. The only annoyance was they didnt have the lettuce DD likes, but I'm going to buy some seeds & see if we can grow them at home. Total spend after deducting my £2 off voucher was £24.98 so I now have £85.22 left of my grocery budget.

Forgot to mention yesterday about the annoying work thing ... Warning - rant to follow :

I arrived in & was told I had to give in £10 for the world cup bet thing . Apparently my 'friend' told them I would definitely be 'up for it' so went ahead & drew my teams for me as well. I got Australia & Nigeria :(.

It may sound petty but I am annoyed about it. Although they manage to call me about 3 times each time I'm off to ask stupid questions, they couldnt ring me to ask if I wanted to join in. She knows I'm not well off & had to pay £50 on childcare this week & had also just asked me for more money towards allotment funds for stuff we dont need & then told me that I have to go there this weekend as she's away, again, which is why I had to swap my friday & pay for the childminder as the friend who had DD on wednesday, was free again on thursday but couldnt do the friday .

If asked I would have said no, I dont want to waste a tenner on that, I have no interest in football & I really really hate people making assumptions & decisions on my behalf .

Right, enough chuntering I'm going to have a NSD, make a very brief visit to the allotment & then come home & sort my owns stuff out. I very much doubt there will be ebaying today :o.

A tenner??? for a world cup sweepstake  That is really shocking.

I joined in our one at work but it was in no way obligatory and was only £2 which I don't mind contributing. However any more than £2 and I would have said 'no thanks!'. I got Italy so might be in with a chance, we get something for 2nd, 3rd & 4th place as well.

I'm not a football fan but I didn't mind joining in with the office on things like that (within reason.....) #

You've every reason to be peeved about that - very cheeky of your friend to put you down for £10 and if they were calling you all the time then they definitely could've mentioned it to you.

Anyway, good job you got all the washing done yesterday as it looks not so good today.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

A tenner on a sweepstake!! That is shocking and your friend needs a kick up the pants for being a cheeky mare. I think if I had been told that I was spending £10 then I would have refused point blank to join in. I also hate being told what I am going to do.

I had this last month when 4N closed down our networking group and the area leader told me that I was going to be Ops Assistant for the neew group she was setting up - I asked to be Group Leader and was shouted down so I withdrew my services altogether and am Ops Assistant for another group - roll on October when I won't renew my membership:rotfl:

The weather has been glorious and yesterday I took myself off to Blenheim Palace to convert my day ticket into a free annual pass which allows me into all their events, the Palace and the gardens - my picture looks like a criminal's one..all that is missing are the numbers:eek: It was hell there yesterday as they had a triathlon meet going on with 2400 competitors and assorted visitors milling around, to escape I went into the Palace, had a bite to eat, a short wander around the garden before giving up and going home - taking another scenic route which has made me fall in love with a tiny little house that looks like a miniature castle.

I might do some washing today and need to get my head around installing some new anti virus software.

    Morning all,

was awake at some early hour due to parakeets, crows & babies, but never mind because it means that I've now completed the ironing which was still lurking late last night.

Spent a couple of hours at the allotment yesterday & am going to concentrate on the mini orchard & herbs which was what I wanted to do when we got the second plot. The other girls already had the veg one when I joined & it was my desire to take on the second one for those very purposes so that is what I shall concentrate on :D. I have room for a veg/salad box at home, but dont want to cover half the garden in netting so we can have fruit trees so I think in my mind that issue is now resolved, phew.

Had a great afternoon pottering in the garden & planting out & then watering the mini plants I still had only for it to pour down about an hour later, hey ho :rotfl:.

DD & I had an hour on the wii doing the just dance game & I know that is a really easy way to exercise & good fun too, so I'm just goin to have to find a regular time each day when I spend 30 minutes doing it. I'm thinking that if I leave work on time I could just about squish it in before DD gets home from school, I make her something to eat & then do home:mad:job.

Other news is that I've just paid £200 off the co op cc bringing the balance down to £600 :)

Total debt as of this very sunny day is ..... £4,400

Makeup - Horace, glad to hear you both thought £10 is a lot, I wondered whether I was a bit out of touch. I'm happy to join in with a bit of fun - secret santa etc ... but at my discretion & price ;).

Grumpy made a comment about my gladiator sandals being very 'Roman' on friday in a rather snidey way, so I've decided to wear a different pair of shoes every day at work just to see if he reacts at all ( I should be able to go about 3 weeks before having to repeat )

Little things like that amuse me, & I'm not going to mention the sweepstake to the friend, just wont swap any more days for a friday :p.

Right, off to get dressed & put on my fab black Faith wedge sandals :D
  • I'd be annoyed about the sweepstake but you live and learn I guess, its like giving to people's leaving presents - I ended up spending a tenner on a person I barely liked cos no one else would give. bloody annoying.

Looks like things are ticking a long well, I do like reading your diary xxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Hi Buffy,

sorry I havent been over to 'yours' for a while, guess I've been too busy moaning :o.

I was very good yesterday; as soon as I came home I got n the wii & did half an hour of vigorous dancing exercise, well, I call it dancing :undecided.

I started off with goo intentions food wise as well but ... there were 2 pitta breads & a strawberry cornetto that had to be tidied away .

The cat surpassed his previous hunting skills & brought in an enormous frog last night - I'm not good with slimy things & apart from looking rather cross & surprised at it's unplanned relocation, they dont like to be touched either so I had to maneouvre it into an old tub & then despatch it back outside while shuddering :(.

I have loads of ebay bids ending today & have a feeling that if I win them all I may be about to crash out of my own challenge ... oh the shame :o:p:o.

Nasty weather has put a halt to my fabby sandal wearing schedule so I'm back in my old Faithful (geddit ;)) black 3 inch heeled shoes today, but I havent worn them for a while & the divinely gorgeous orlando bloom/johnny depp-alike is coming in to work today & inspite of the fact that he is happily married & I dont mess with them, I get to spend all day with him & in my mind can pretend he's free :D

Other than that it wont be a NSd as we're running out of milk & I have to give DD some money for books as The Fonz ( yes, really) is coming to her school to chat with the kids & sign some of his books ... am currently hatching a plan to get myself an invite too :shhh:.

Time to drag la petite mademoiselle from her bed now so have a nice day everyone & will report back with my ebay & grocery results later

    xx

Hello Krisp & welcome to my Quest :D

hope you're feeling better & I dread to think what you've discovered by reading all this rambling & ranting.

I'm ashamed to say I'm about to have another :o brace yourselves ...

Not sure if I'm being paranoid but it seems that my supposed 'friend' is stirring things up at work :(. I was reprimanded by Grumpy boss for apparently not having sent an important email to a client - they said they hadnt received it. 'Friend' had checked my pc & said it hadnt been done so my name was mud yesterday after I left :o. Not sure why they didnt call me but there we go. I was puzzled & certain that I had done it so checked in my sent items & there it was so I asked boss if that was the one he meant :p.

When both bosses were out of the office 'friend' informed me that the guy who's been off sick was due back & that he would probably be taking over my role in the big project  I was a bit deflated at the thought of not finishing what I started & felt a bit anxious as to what my new role would be ... or even if I'd still have one :(

Then this afternoon 'friend' got all uppity when Grumpy & I were having a banter & said that it was a distraction, I laughed & replied that she & Gropey were always at it, to which she retorted that she'd been there for 4 years so it was ok . At that point an image of that bakery owner on last night's Mary Queen of Shops - " I've been doing this for 36 years" repeat ad infinitum )came to my mind & I just wanted to giggle but managed to keep a straight face.

My reply was that I did actually work previous to joining this company & she pulled a face & said "yeh, right, I believe you" in a sarcastic tone  .

Her smug little goblin face really irked me so, as I was leaving I passed Gropey Boss on his way back from lunch & said that I'd heard that sick colleague was returning & that I'd really like to continue with my role in the project to see it through to the end & would hate to be taken off it before completion  ...

Cue reassuring hug & affirmation that only he & Grumpy made the decisions & he had no intention whatsoever of taking my job away from me :j

I came home & did my session on the wii but still it's been niggling away at the back of my mind; why is she trying to control me or am I being paranoid ?

Did home-job work then went to local shop to stock up on a few essentials like milk & bread & salad. Spent £12.61 as butter was half price again so thought I'd stock up. I now have £72.61 left.

I lost my bids on ebay - which is lucky so I dont have to suffer the shame of failing at the Clothes Challenge :D but there are more pending :shhh:.

DD had a bread tasting & making session at school today & brought home the loaf she made, it was lovely :A. She also told me that she had to lend her scales to 7 other children as none of them brought any in ... surely everyone has a set of kitchen scales :undecided.

Oh dear, I cant believe how late it is & how I havent got around to catching up on other threads still :o.

It will be a busy day at work tomorrow & although I really dont like the way the Goblin is trying to manipulate/control me, I absolutely refuse to resort to office politics & !!!!!iness so will have to just keep my mind on higher matters.

Oh :( just realised I havent checked online banking today, night night

Pah. The Goblin sounds like shes having an attack of the green eyed monster. Clearly its only just dawned on her that you are F*ing Fabulous whilst managing to dress like a hot hip chick and perform feats only a superwoman can. Its obviously that time of the year when people whinge about anything and everything. Not that its any consolation but the [STRIKE]back stabbing b!tches[/STRIKE] ladies at work are driving me nuts too. Priceless whinge of the day to my boss was a complaint by someone that I'd hauled the floor scrubber over to an outbuilding and left in in a cupboard having dared to move furniture to scrub floor ... half an hour later her co-worker was in his office whinging that the same building wasn't being cleaned properly.
