I f***** love you guys :A, always there to give me a giggle when having a rare moment of self doubt.

Wol - am definitely up for Raving at the Riverbank on the 31st - sorry if I hadnt confirmed :o am just trying to sort out logisitics of DD: ie bring her, stay sober & not embarass myself by getting wasted & dancing like a loon, or get a minder & come with full camping equipment ready to partay & pitch for the night

Moo - still reading but just havent posted for a while :o, I am sending you positive kick a$$ vibes at the moment to help you deal with all those who are messing with your karma  may their undergarments itch like an ants nest :D

Checked my inbox & it now appears there are 'issues' surrounding the allotments *sighs*.

Anyway, I am indeed fabulous as are all who lurk & post here - missing Shoe Gal dreadfully :( - so today I have dressed to impress with DDaphne & DDelores firmly stuffed into a lowish cut top made decent by cardi & have decided to go for the ever Faithful gold snakeskin print ballet pumps that an ebayer was getting rid of for the bargainous sum of £4 because there were a couple of scuffs on them ... I have cunningly covered these with a gold pen sourced from the local closing down sale craft shop for an even more bargainous £87p & it will also be useful for further crafting projects ha ha :D.

Should really go & feed my child now who is having similar friendship problems with ex Bessfriend. This delightful child has gathered a small army of minibiatches around her & has openly declared that they are her 'minions'. Me thinks she will be in for a rude awkaneing when she turns up at the local secondary school ( 1500 pupils) with that sort of attitude next september.

Oh, the trials of being frugal but fabulous :rotfl:

    Laters my lovelies

Hi lovely, sorry I've been seeing an FWB and doing pizza and wine with an old colleague(only decent thing to come out of old job) and so haven't seen your latest rants. That Goblin sounds vile, petty and jealous. Maybe she's just a bit premenstrual?!!!! If not then take the higher ground and continue to be fabulous. That really winds them up. When my old boss was being really vile I used to make her wait about at the end of the night while I put uber red lippie and even higher heels on and said I was meeting a 'friend'. As her excitement came from a trip to Asda she used to be fuming!!!

Good that you are doing so well re CC's and budget is plenty. I have about a fiver left in my grocery budget!!! but it will last as I have most of my main meals in and some M and S vouchers to use if need be.

Off today so will update my diary and catch up with everyone else...before dinner with a friend and then a date tonight X

I agree with the others and think that you've handled this brilliantly.

I don't remember, were you friends with Goblin prior to the job??

I think you are right to keep ignoring her, you are fabulous and you shouldn't have to sink to her level.

Souk - love your idea about the red lippie and uber high heels. Absolutely!

    Morning your fabulousnesses,

Work was fine, little Goblin was a bit distant but not hostile & having spent the previous day swooning over Orlando Bloom-alike I was all full of the milk of human kindness.

As to previous acquaintance, the lady is one of whom I share the allotment with, so we have a common interest but we havent ever socialised other than that. I think it's quite simply a case of her having been the only female the for 4 years & now there's 'competition'. Bless her, she's been married to her childhood sweetheart for about 30 years, doesnt wear make up or dress up at all, then I turn up all DDs & fitted tops, 16 years younger, single & a face full of lippy, confident & wont take any !!!!!!.

In the same situation, I'd probably be struggling to keep a smile on it too.

I'm not about being super ambitious, I'm all about doing my job well but having a lot of fun at the same time & not taking it all too seriously ... & loving working with all the boys too ;)

I'm keep in my karma intact & refusing to rise to the bait so will just put Operation Uber Glam into action instead ... shoe of the day is a fab pair of bronze high wedges :)

    Back later ...

Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

The thing is, if I were her I'd be delighted to have another woman in the office. I get so fed up with the endless football discussions at work and the rubbish sexist jokes they make.

And I don't buy that 'competition' thing at all! I'm not very glam at work at all, I ride my bike to work and I sometimes have to go into dirty / manky / horrible places so I don't dress up for work and don't wear makeup. However some of my colleagues wear the works, heels, makeup, jewellery and I'm not jealous or feel like we're competing or anything like that.

Quite frankly this Goblin just sounds like a not very nice person and she shouldn't be given any excuses for her behaviour!!!

Welcome home my lovely, although you have been missed here I do hope you've had a fab holiday :D.

Makeup - thanks for your input & views, I always rate your thoughts very highly. As regards little goblin, I really thought it must be 'competition' as I cant think what else it can be . I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always a very nice person, but I genuinely believe that I do get on with most people I meet or can at least find some common ground & I'll certainly never knowingly provoke or upset anyone or try to humiliate, embarass, point out their shortcomings or get them into trouble.

It's my belief that those who are that way inclined will get their comeuppance & although I do inwardly seethe sometimes when I feel I have been 'wronged' I have mellowed with age & no longer feel that instinctive & immmediate urge to redress the balance with revenge, I am happy to let karma do it's thing ;)

I am nearly all grown up now :rotfl:

Luscious man was in again today & will be tomorrow too ... I was almost tempted to go in, just to spend more time basking in gorgeousness but then remembered that I HATE fridays there. He said I was the only one that helped him out & that he would probably need to calll me :heartpuls I told him that my number was in the contacts list & that he could "call me, any day or night, call me" :D.

Dammit, why do fabulous men always have to be either gay or married .

Moving on before I weep into my Gordon & dilute it

The sandals I ordered from Dotty P's are too small  so I will have to return them to the shop tomorrow & run the gauntlet of the many temptations of the town centre. I havent shopped there since before the Faith closing down tragedy. I actually didnt trust myself not buy up the whole shop :o so have succesfully stayed outside the 3 mile exclusion zone I set myself :j.

Tomorrow needs must as I also need to get some more contact lens solution & have yearning to buy some beady bracelet type things or bangles too. Will have to go got TKMaxx too, just to rummage through the random eclecticism ( < real word ??) & see how much I can NOT buy :D.

I received my first subscription copy of Glamour today & was delighted to get a free Benefit eye liner with it :T I will either save it for when my current one runs out or keep it for future presents along with the freebie set of cosmetics & nail polishes I got for taking out the subscription :D.

I also received my special membership discount vouchers from Waitrose 3 x £15 off vouchers :) ... just shame that I have to spend £150, yes that's right £150  to qualify :(.

That really sucks & I'd be very interested to know the percentage of vouchers that actually do get processed. Pah, no chance of using mine. I'm already getting scared about having to manage on £65 for another 3 & 1/2 weeks _pale_.

I lost a load of bids on ebay but did win a very cute looking black bag for £2.97 ... just hope it's nice when it arrives.

I took on some extra home-job work tonight & have also completed about 5 surveys so the pennies & points do keep trickling in.

I am so tired though as I havent had more than 5 hours a night all week so am off to bed right now

    xx

Ugh, it's all damp & grey here :(. Excellent weather for painting bathrooms in fact ... but that wont be happening as that's where I need to hang all the washing that my lovely machine has just done for me.

Then I'm off to town to shop like a crazy lady who hasnt seen anything other than grocery shops for a month.

Then a brief visit to Waitrose where I plan to spend under £25 ...

Then some serious cleaning & paperwork shuffling,

Then off to watch DD perform in her class assembly.

Shoe of the day is actually a pair of high chunky heeled Next tan coloured boots that will act as a further shoe buying contraceptive :D.

Cant be @rsed to pull jean legs up, unzip boots, take them off & then reverse the procedure. Boots are completely ineffective at the time of the month when bag buying is deemed essential :o

Off to empty the machine, will report back later ...

    Hurray, I'm not shoegnant :rotfl:

The boots & jeans combo contraceptive worked perfectly ... although there was almost a dodgy moment in TkMaxx when faced with some wild Roxy flipflops with orange flowers on them :o But thankfully I resisted & hence avoided a morning after bill - although I have to confess this is only because I have promised myself a pair of purple & orange havaianas :shhh:

I hurried past Faith & felt real physical pain at the sad empty windows  felt even more despondent going past the place where Bay Trading used to be & was almost devastated to see that Cargo was in the process of closing down too.

To be honest, I have felt for some time that our high streets & shopping centres are over saturated with womens clothes shops, but it's still sad to see it happening & to think of all those poor people who have lost their jobs & security. In the space where Woolies used to be is now a huge H&M & I went in there for a nose about. Lots of lovely stuff but the rails were so rammed that I couldnt remove an item without at least 7 other hangers getting tangled up too & everything ending up on the floor  it's not that cheap either so unless they reorganise their displays I wont be going back :p.

I returned the sandals & didnt even look at anything else in the shop, I was too keen to get to Topshop where I had a feeling that something special was waiting for me ... It was :j, the most luscious slouchy style bag, of the softest dark tan leather with silver fixings & a short handle made of a chunky silver chain interwoven with a strand of the same leather as the bag; that sits perfectly over the shoulder. It's plenty large enough for everything a girl needs to carry about but all squishy & has the lovely little studs on the bottom to protect it ... yeh, like I'm ever going to put it down :rotfl:.

The sales staff laughed when I told them that it spoke to me & so had to come home with me. In return I agreed to apply for their store card in order to receive a 15% discount off the bag. The girl loved my password too :D I've never had a storecard but as I will pay it off in one go as soon as I get the bill I thought it would be churlish to refuse a discount.

I had to wander about while they processed the application & very nearly bought a gorgeous silver watch on a chain for £30  & some fab beady bracelets for £18 _pale_ but thankfully I was accepted quite quickly so me, my bag & a shiny new credit limit of £350 left quietly.

Succesfully avoided Accessorize for beady bracelets & headed to the old cheap & cheerful Primarni where I bought some for £1.50 & a set of bangles for £2.50.

I do need that silver watchchain though, but will wait until I receive my new card & get the £5 off voucher for using the card for the first time ;).

Had to spend an annoying £17.50 on contact lens solution & another £2.20 on parking but was in too much of a rush to get home & play withe my new bag to bother going in to any other shops :rotfl:

Fortunately I did manage to stop off at Waitrose & do some grocery shopping. Unfortunately I spent £34.67 :(so now have a paltry £37.94 to last another 19 days.

Yes I am so bad :naughty: but my feelings remain the same; if I die tomorrow at least I will have a fabulous bag & a fridge full of delicious healthy ethical food to leave to my children :p. I can assure you that this gives me far more comfort than knowing that I had paid another £100 off my CC & left them the tiny tatty old bag that wasnt even leather along with a selection of Tatco Value products that masquerade as 'food'.

I'd only been home about half an hour when the glazing company called to say they'd had a cancellation so could they pop round immediately. I agreed while hastily transferring £70 from the slush fund into my current account. They were super quick & I paid up & it was completely painless.

This is why everyone should have an emergency / slush fund. The money was there & it has had no impact on the rest of my living expenses.

This budgeting stuff really works, thanks MSE :A. Had I been mean & asked my neighbour to contribute towards the cost, I swear that bag wouldnt have been there today; Lulas Karmic Law blesses again :).

The class assembly was fun although DD looked petrified, she's not a natural performer but got her lines right. I popped into the school office while there & discovered that horror of horrors; the autumn term doesnt begin until 7th september  so I had better fill in all those forms for the childminder & get them round to her quick.

I have a couple of bid ending tonight so will then have to tot up my spends & confess all over on the clothes challenge. I think it may be scary how little I have left.

    Bye for now

    Hey Lula

I think I sounded a bit angry in my earlier post....:o maybe you are right and it is competition and if so that is really really sad for her. I think I got a bit riled up because I hate this attitude that some people have that women hate other women who are prettier/ younger / thinner than them. If that was the case then I'd have a whole lot of hate in my heart

However I suppose that just because not all women are like this doesn't mean to say that some women aren't like this and maybe you are unlucky enough to work with one.

And regardless of all of the above, she is at work - she should be acting professionally and undermining you for petty reasons like this is making her look bad, or at least it will when it becomes obvious what she is doing!!

Anyway enough of this and onto the shopping - it all sounds fabulous. I love those slouchy leather bags and it sounds gorgeous. I never think of Top Shop for accessories but maybe I should consider them (or maybe not in view of my rapidly decreasing bank balance.....)

I stopped off in Tatco on the way home from work today and snapped up the Glamour with the Badgal eye pencil too and also Marie Claire with the free shower gel. I love Benefit stuff and have heard great things about Badgal.

Hope you have a fab weekend.
I've got my own flat :j:j
