  • sorry but I cant stop giggling.......fortunately my pup is only small and wont grow big enough to reach the worktop although he does have a tendancy to steal tomatoes, peas, beans and carrots from the garden!!! Keep wondering what he keeps munching on but keep on finding tell tale left overs haha.

Hope you managed to get your chicken last night.

This month is proving very expensive already:

    £275 massage course
Still have £50 to pay for my salon uniform, plus £10 for a stupid towel so we 'all have the same'.
£25 new foundation (desperated to find a good one cheaper, but there's little worse than bad foundation so I'll have to wait and see).
    Rent
Mobile bill (not sure how much yet)

That's the bare minimum, but I should have some Quidco cashback, although I can't figure out how much: my £45 from my car insurance has been validated, it says, but I'm not sure whether or not it will pay out or not. (Please, please pretty please!) There's about £16 on top of that at least, and it would be most welcome this month, especially after me spending more than I should have on dinner on Friday, plus chippy money. *Crosses fingers*

That's EXACTLY what I use, and it does last a long time, but as you say, it costs a blinking fortune!

Best friend and hubbie are going to Canada next week, so they are going to see if they can pick any up for me cheaper, then I'll naughtily return the stuff I bought here. :o Hopefully, it will be a lot less than it is here, even if the exchange rate is no longer massively in our favour. x

Well it should be because EL is American but not always cheaper in Canada but at least duty free should be a few pennies cheaper if nothing else.

Someone suggested Benefit to me. Any views on that?

have you looked online for it to see if it's cheaper?
  • I use MAC mineral foundation which is £20 (i think tho last time I bought it in duty free!!) so a fiver cheaper and very long lasting I generally only get through 2 a year so look at it as better value than a cheaper one!!
    Mortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999

Yes, but nothing doing, I'm afraid. :(

BF's hubby is going to the States for a few days first, so I think he's going to have a look for me there. :)

As for Benefit, I have some of their other products, but I've never tried a foundation, or know anyone who has. Bet if I went over to the 'No More Buying Toiletries' thread, someone would, though! ;)

Thanks for the advice, Baby Steps -I'll see if I can get a sample to try it. A girl at work said Ruby & Millie did a good one, too, for £16, but even that's a lot of money if they don't work and don't get used, so I'll see if I can get some samples to try, then I'll invest in that. (Clinique is supposed to be good, too, and slightly cheaper, so I actually went to their counter for some advice but the assistants just ignored me for ages when I was looking, so I went back to the nice, helpful lady at EL, who also offered me a free makeover. And free samples. And lots of Boots points!) The thing is, if it's not good and I end up not using it and then having to buy the EL as well, it's just a waste of money, and I'm really trying to cut down on the excess number of toiletries I have, as well. I'll figure it out, though, I'm sure. ;)

Definately cheaper in the States, honey, so that should sort it!!

I try to save my points to buy makeup in Boots because I hate spending the money to colour myself in! However to get points you need to spend money and of course, I dont do that anymore. I am privately doing the 'no more toiletries' challenge although was never that bad. I just want to use up all the 'bits' I have around the house!
