I just applied for both the Premier bank account and CC online and I'm bricking it! I'm not sure if I got the payroll dept for my company's address ight and I'm convinced that it's small things like this that are going to cause me grief and make them reject me, crapping up my credit score in the meantime! I mean, I'm fairly sure I got it right, but I was so far in and have spent so long reading all the T&C's and pamphets that come with it that I felt I would never have the resolve to do it again! I'm so scared!

On another note, I tried doing it through Quidco, and it doesn't seemed to have logged, so I'm not sure what's going on there. I've only used it once before, and it recognised that and in the 'my account' bit says I've got £2 back, but it doesn't have anything for this one. I hope it has worked, but I'm a Quidco newbie and I have no idea: help!  Also, it says I have £2, but had a big bit which says 'Cashback: £0'. Does that mean money I've withdrawn, or money registered? Helphelphelphelphelphelphelphelphelp!

God, I'm a bag of nerves after that application: it was horrible. I had to give them all my personal info: everything! It's information rape, that's what it is. I'd better get the £100 + the Quidco £50 back, else I'll weep!

Quidco advice and fingers crossed, please!

Quidco often takes a few days to show anything as tracked. I wouldn't worry about it at this stage - it takes ages to come through so don't expect the money in the next few weeks or you will be disappointed. It DOES generally come through eventually though, so it is a nice bonus when it does!

    Phew, thanks Hypno!
Cor, I feel awful after that application: heart racing, hands a bit shaky. You'd think I'd just asked for permission to murder!

As for the £2 I got back off my other transaction oh-so-many-moons-ago, does the big 'Cashback: £0' mean anything sinister?

    Fang Q! :)

Yes: it says they will e-mail me back within 48 hours to let me know. So much for 'a decision within minutes'. I suppose it's cos it's a Sunday. I might check again, though, just in case...

    Nope, nothing new. :(

Anyone have any advice on the Quidco thing? Sorry to harp on, it's just that Quidco were very specific about having to delete all cookies first as if you've been to the website/another website mentioning it first (i.e. here), then the computer would automatically credit it as having told us about it so that I couldn't claim the Quidco cash back. I deleted them all, but had to refer to the website during the application to see what type of account I was looking for (bad memory). Now I'm a bit scared. :(

It should track if you didn't go to A+L first without deleting cookies.

Sorry Taxi, but I don't quite get that. The Quidco site said to delete all cookies first, then go through it to get the cashback, which is what I did. Does that sounds about right to you? x

  • I think it will be fine, just go back and check in a couple of days and if not put a query in.

I'm with A&L, they matched our previous overdraft and have waivered a few charges for us after a nice phonecall. Never had any huge problems with them. I have a branch which is local, but don't like any banks in particular so this one works for me as I have little to do with them, they just hold my limited amount of funds.

Cheer IMD, I've just delayed applying as I've been convinced that they would reject me due to my appaling lack of income, despite having a pretty good credit score and the benefits being potentially enormous. I don't really have a 'favourite' bank either, although I've been with HSBC since I was 15 and they have been pretty good to me in terms of student overdrafts, so I can't complain too much. I'll be gutted if I don't get it as it will mess up my credit score, but if I get it and they give me the CC as well, I'll be home and dry as it will mean that I am paying NO interest on my debts, and I can pay them off as I wish within the year (although this will obviously be sooner rather than later). The £100 + £50 would also be brilliant as I can throw it at the debt, or use it to buy another blummin' external hard drive. I can honestly say that them saying 'yes' will change my life. (Not meaning to sound cheesy, but it really, honestly will.) Cross your fingers for me, please. ;)
