Multiple trips to the doctors, exploding computers and other woes - fingers crossed for you that your outlook starts perking up some time soon.

No, they were backups, but I'm still not a happy Pickle! I have it mainly for photos and music, which means that there's not much point burning them to CD/DVD as it would take oodles and oodles of them.

Right, so today has started considerably later than intended due to not being able to find my mobile phone to set the alarm, and it's a busy one.

Haven't quite had the chance to sit down and work out the finances, but things are going to be tight. To make things worse, I still have tons of stuff - expensive stuff at that - to buy for that nail course. I hav £100 sat in my Paypal account so I am going to try to buy as much of that on Ebay as possible using that money, which has 2 positive effects: the money doesn't come out of my pay; a lot of the stuff is considerably cheaper on Ebay than it is in the real world, even at a beauty wholesalers (£10.96 for a UV lamp instead of a minimum of £40 at the wholesalers, anyone?). Granted, sometimes it's taking a bit of a risk and I wouldn't want to buy everyhing on there for health and safety reasons, but it's far better than forking out all that cash.

Other than that, I really need to hammer out the finances, do the shoppng, go on a staff doo, walk doggie, clean up etc. Oh the wonderful life of Pickle! (I think I need to get one! ;))

It's just a meal in a restaurant near work. It will be nice enough, but overpriced and nothing special (that sounds quite bitter of me, doesn't it?!) It's just that the girl who booked it basically doesn't know much about different types of food and won't eat anywhere that doesn't serve burgers so we are going to a burger-type place I have been before, which was a bit overpriced for what it was and not all that great, really. I'm hoping it will be better today, though. :)

Need to go....just back from the shopping and the dog still needs her daily perambulation. ;)

Thanks! I'm back and it was OK, but nothing better. And cost me £15 for a main course and two soft drinks. *Sigh*

Right, going to give the finance-calculating a go. Wish me luck! _pale_

I accidentally lied: it was £12.85 if my new calculations are correct, but that's still too much for posh McDonalds for me. I should shut up whingeing: it's not that bad compared to what I could have paid going elsewhere, but I would have prefered to have paid a bit more and have had a 'proper' dining experience.

Ed will love this when he reads it! ;)

Have spent past few hours reviewing the finances (and there is still more plotting to be done) when I started writing a long post, thinking I'd set my login to 'remember me'. Guess what, I hadn't, and now another long post is consigned to the rubbish bin of cyberspace. *Insert shruggy-eyed smiley* I wouldn't mind so much, but I had calculated the best way to solve the economic problems of this country and the rest of the world, end all wars and famine, and the reason why the meaning of life was '42', but I know I will have forgotten it by tomorrow morning. Oh well, the world shall have to just find its own solutions...

Night all. The dog keeps twisting and turning on the sofa making it very clear that it is waaaay past her bedtime, and that I am interrupting her beauty sleep. *Insert another rolly-eyed smiley*

  • I hate it when you do a long post and it disappears, I usually cut and paste now.

I'd be annoyed about the McDonalds as well if it's any consolation. I nearly hyperventilated the other day when OH mentioned the fish and chip shop and that's much cheaper!

You were up veryyyyyyy early - email winging it's way over to you shortly.
