Marvellous achievement - 8 days is some going, well done you!

And yes I am sure you will get 'something' listed!

I had to break it today, alas. The further you go, the further you want it to go! ;)

Was at a wedding blessing tonight, which was really nice, even though I had initially just wanted to go and get it over ASAP as I was at work just before it. I ended up having a great time, and came home with tons of food in a 'doggy bag'. I won't have to cook for ages!

Well today was my NINTH NSD (although can I point out that I shouldn't be revelling in them as much as I am: the reason there are so many is that I'm very broke, so there is little other option. :o But then again, I've not really been doing anything, so there has been little reason for me to spend too much, so at least it means I've been plugging the holes in my ridiculous lunch/other food at work spending). I also got my payslip for this month, and I'm a little richer than I would normally be due to an increase in commission (but not that much!), and I just got all excited this evening thinking how I would have money on Tuesday...until I realised that I don't get paid until next Tuesday. :o If wishes were horses...

Other than that, I've FINALLY managed to list some things on Ebay, taking advantage of the free listings day. OK, so I haven't actually had the chance to fully list them, but I've started the listings and will finish them tomorrow. I listed 14 items, which is pretty good: all I need to do now it the donkey worn. Darn. (If I sell them, though, I'll be delighted!)

And that's it. It's all workworkwork at the minute: I'm home alone for about a week, which is great, except the poor dog is bored stiff when I'm at work, so I have to try to make it up to her when I'm not, taking her for an extra walk and holding her bone while she chews it. :rotfl: (I'm never having kids. Ever. Imagine this, only worse! :rotfl: )

One thing that came up in a conversation while at work was pensions. I'm going to have to look into one, soon. I should have started already, really. I think this will take a lot of research, though. *Sigh*

Still, overall a good day. The rest of those Ebay listings seems like a long chore for tomorrow evening, but as I already said I will be DELIGHTED if I sell them and it will have been well worth it as there are two fairly decent priced items, one of which is really quite expensive. Here goes *crosses fingers*

you are doing fantastic on nsds..well done x
  • Tell yourself you are going to list just 5 items a night - baby chunks and all that.

I hate listing but I despise packaging and posting............I get the money and then don't want to be bothered!
    LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
    (CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
    Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

:rotfl: I don't mind that half as much...it's the listing I hate. Doing a good job to make your listing seem quite interesting is very time consuming.

Ah well. So long as the money comes rolling in, I can live with it! :D

TENTH NSD over here, people! :D

Was at work today and got paid some nice compliments by my boss. (OMG!)

Am trying to plot and plan for payday: I need to cover my expenses for this month, but try and plan ahead for Christmas/New Year etc. and an aromatherapy course I want to take once this massage course has ended.

Honestly, this money lark never ends! *rolls eyes*

    Update:

My finances are a close-run thing at the minute: I have got £1.25 credit on my CC somehow! ( :rotfl:), and about 53p to last in the bank until next Tuesday, when I get paid. I have no bills to come out, and £7.39 in my purse.

I need to get fit and healthy. I have known this for ages, hence my unproductive gym memebership at £40 for 6 weeks, which I then didn't use AT ALL after the initial induction class. :o Hardly :money: or productive in the slightest.

To be honest, I should have known better. I am not a gym bunny. I never get round to taking the time out of schedule, getting there, doing the whole workout thing and then getting back home to get back on with the oodle of other stuff I should be doing. I already knew this, but tried to convince myself otherwise with the 'It's near work so i'll just go at the end of the day' lark, when I know I'm too tired to do so. I need to do something I can do from home, like an exercise video, or go for a walk: something I'm doing as soon as I leave home that will bring me back here, rather than going elsewhere, doing it, then having to travel back, which is such a waste of time and other resources. However, when desperate, one can convince oneself of nearly anything.

Some other things have happened inbetween which have made me realise that change is possible, but that it will only work on my terms:
    • I gave up Coke. Full stop. It just started out as not drinking any for a while, then turned into a 'see how long I can keep it up' mini-challenge, then I realised that I was just better off without it. I think it's a trigger for me. When I drink it, the sugar highs and lows mess up my appetite something shocking, making me reach for all the wrong sweet things in order to stop the sugar low from hitting. I'm going to end up diabetic if I keep that up. Even Diet Coke sends me reaching for something sweet, and in my world, it seems that Diet Coke is always twinned with a chocolate bar. I was discussing Diet Coke with In My Dreams on her thread (come back, IMD: where are you?!) and she said that she had read that one of the chemicals used to replace the sugar sent signals to the brain to tell it to expect sweet stuff. I then started thinking about me drinking Diet Coke and always wanting to eat something sweet at the same time or just after, and it made sense. I've tried looking up whether or not it is true on the trusty ol' interweb, and there seem to be many different schools of thought on why diet soft drinks are bad for you, althought not a great amount of consensus, but in essence the message seems to be 'stay away' and I'm inclined to agree. I also feel less bloated and find that hunger signals are clearer. (For me, the main culprit is Coke - I can take or leave any other soft drink without much thought, so I won't bad everything as it will make socialising hard, but ciao, sionara, zaijian Coke - we're through. For good.)
    • The breadmaker: having a breadmaker seems to have had an unexpected benefit in that I eat less bread. I must admit, I'm a glutton for Warburton's Toastie toast (not healthy, I know, but YUM! :D) and the better quality bread from the breadmaker just doesn't toast how I like it, so I've been eating less toast for breakfast. I had noticed how I seemed to be eating a lot of toast for breakfast (cos it's quick), followed by a sandwich for lunch, but not that I have (mainly) cut out toast for breakfast, I have noticed that I'm not as bloated as well (think this is a double whammy of bread and Diet Coke deprivation), and that I tend to eat less bread in general. (What I do eat is really nice, though! :))
Then I realised that I have some pretty major milestones coming up: my 30th in November, a wedding to attend in mid December, and I thought : I don't want to be in this shape for those events!

So, I managed to scrimp together £50 to join Rosemary Connelly classes for ten weeks (although that meant using my Quidco money, which I was going to put towards CC debt repayments, and will have to take out of next month's spends, but that's OK as I felt this was important.) I've just been to the first class, and although I haven't had a chance to read through all the bumph yet (and consequently this counts as a bit previous, but I'm quite excited so allow me to blabber and you can all yell at me later if I don't stick to it ;)), but I have a very good feeling that this is going to work out for me. Why? Because the lessons MAKE me do exercise, which I know if one of the big problems for me, and I'm sure that once I've got one exercise class force-factored into my timetable, that it will motivate me for the rest of the week to get off my bum and go out there and do at least two more, even if it's just a long & quick walk, which I can do from home back to home (added bonus: I can take the dog! :D).

OK, maybe it won't be so easy when everyone else comes back to the house, but I think this stands a fairly good chance as so far it seems to be mainly common sense that I already know, but just don't quite put in place, and MAKING ME EXERCISE which I know to be one of the major(est) problem(s) (and cut out wine for the most part, which may be difficult when I get more of a social life again, but I'll deal with that when I come to it).

    So this afternoon:
    1. Walk dog,
    2. FINISH EBAY LISTINGS ( didn't do last night - bad Pickle!)
    3. PRACTICE NAILS
    4. Text about nails to girl from course
    5. Make list of foods I need to buy (on CC alas, but will pay off when get paid and it will be worth it!)
    6. Do shopping.
    7. Make dinner
    8. Figure out finances for next month and beyond.
In which case, see you later!

I wanted to treat myself to two books when I get paid. I was a good girl and sourced the cheapest places online, but have realised that a 20% off voucher I was given in W H Smith last week will mean that buying them instore is cheaper than anywhere online, so I'll have to get them this week, bung them on the CC and pay it straight off early next week when I get paid.

    Savings ahoy!
