I wonder if Ofcom have anything to say about this. After all, they are an independent regulator on behalf of the consumer. Look what happened to BT several years back when they monopolised the market. I know this situation is a bit different though.

Indeed. Being from the North-East. I know people who work for Orange and others who work for T-Mobile, as both contact centres are up here. They'll be filling their pants right now :(

As almost everything on our high streets grinds down to a couple of national or multi-nationals and less and less real choice - where the HELL is our Monopolies Commission???

Languishing on some tropical beach courtesy of having their palms crossed with silver, same as the rest of this barrow-boy government???

I hope the unions fight for any redundancies to be off-shore first.

They gave up once hbos/lloylds happened thanks to you know who!

Its distressing to see how the high street shops are being turned into bargain shops selling cheap stuff and large city centres are just not worth going to - full of supermarkets and little cafes. All the small building societies disappearing - all started 10 years ago with the stock rush.

Me too, but businesses being businesses, they'll trim the most expensive fat first.

I think its a good idea... more competition for the larger market share holders o2 and vodafone.

Orange and T-Mobile were only 3 and 4 in the market and weren't gaining any momentum.

Three will be the ones who really suffer.

Ive been an orange customer for years and have been very happy with there service.

My concern is when its goes all goes through they be like every other company and get to big for there boots and the customer service will go down hill.

Im not a fan of t mobile in the slighest when it comes to customer service.

The only thing I like about t mobile is there advert at liverpool street station

    ;-)
Im an ex employee RBS Group
