I recently chose the Hero over the iPhone and I love it. The customization is brilliant, and while it doesn't have as many apps as the iPhone, it has apps for everything I want, and as for speed issues, check out this video

Not sure when the update comes out (should be soon though), but apparently it offers a big speed increase.

Someone on MSE got the white Hero on Orange with mobilephonesdirect.

Mine's £30/mo (works out at £25 with cashback) for 100 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited mobile data and a free Hero on Vodafone with mobiles.co.uk. It's brown though, they don't have white.

Hero any day of the week as it is more customisable and can multitask, whereas the iPhone can't. Hero also has removable storage options.

For those complaining of lag, download task killer for free off Android market, it closes any program running in the background that is taking up resources at the touch of a button. Makes a huge difference in speeding up the UI.
Try to imagine nothing ever existed...

remember the Hero is called the G2 on T-Mobile if you want it on this network.
