Seven Bridge Toll is more than the average hourly wage in Wales.

(Also 3.4 higher than the average IQ there aswell :D)

In you have good local knowledge then there is no need for the toll but the best advice (southbound) is if the matrix board just past J12 states more than 30 minutes to J8 (M5) add another 15mins on top at least and to save that queue and delays, the toll is best.

Yes, the cost is lower at "off-peak" times. Unfortunately their "off-peak" hours are 11pm-6am when nobody uses it as there is no traffic on the M6 anyway.

£3.50 for the off peak, and £4.50 at weekend daytimes.

It can still be worth using even in the off peak period. I drove back from London last week, and decided not to bother with the toll road because it was so late. On the short stretch of M6 going through Birmingham, there were three lots of roadworks with only one lane open. In future I'm using the toll road regardless - I don't travel that way often enough to need to avoid the cost.

Never used the toll road on principle. I live by it, and always use the M6. Traffic flow is much better than it used to be, I've never been stuck on it for years now. Back in the 90's it was solid, but all the other roads around now are greatly improved as well, so traffic moves on and off ok.

I use it when I am travelling South and coming back, I have a tag so it's a bit cheaper and no parting with actual cash, the company allow it on expenses so I don't worry about the cost.

    You what?

I get on at J14 or J13 and off at J10 and often, today included, it's backed up to the Toll link.

    From there to 10A is 30 - 40mins and then another 15 to J10.

I head off through Willenhall and down to the Black Country route which takes 15mins in the boards are lit.

Even heading back at 3pm the queue southbound was from the J11 on ramp.
