Just back from Tesco/Costco.
Spent around £100 in all I think. Full update later once I have helped Mr Fresian sort the unkempt garden and made dinner.0 -
I
1/2 cup veg stock (I cheat and save the flavourings from the 9p noodles - I am a cheapskate)
.
Easily sucked in by the words 'unkempt garden' - twitching to help
Those wee sachets -me too!
Stolen recipe
my flatmate use to make a wierd (but delicious) tuna curry when skint (we ate it alot)
Tin tuna
Tin carrots
Tin potatoes
2 tbsp curry powder
Tin tomatos
Tin mixed beans or any beans/chick peas you have
Open several cans - put into pot with curry powder - simmer for 1/2 hour - done - I know it sounds disgusting but it was remarkably nice - if we were feeling flush we'd even put an onion in.
Takes longer to recycle the cans than make the curry!
Bends at the knee and say's evening allTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hi di ho
Apologies if you subscribe to the Grocery Challenge, what follows is a copy and paste job. In my defence, I left the house at 8.30am and got home at 4pm due to overtime and shopping all sodding day. :rotfl:
Here is what I bought...
Costco
Catsan £7.80
Loo Roll (40 rolls of bum-loving Quilted Velvet for £10.34, split with friend) £5.17
Frosties (2 muckle big packs) £4.79 Mr Fresian is a 13 year old trapped in a 30 year old body
Brioche £1.79
Tea (320 Twinings everyday) £1.90 Was BOGOF at £3.79 so one bag each for me and my friend!
Mince x 2 £22 (Works about about 5kg of mince!) I forsee a lot of chili, bolognaise etc in Fresian Towers this month....
Total spend = £43.45
Prices above include our coupons which got us BOGOF on tea and £3 off per pack of mince.
Tesco
A spend of £45.52 in Tesco today. This included the following:
Condensed soup (For sauces) x 6 or 7
Canned tomatoes x 4
Cheerios (Mr Fresian again) Came with a free Roald Dahl book :A
Shower gel x 4
Lentils/porridge/broth mix
Beans/chickpeas
Pasta & Rice 2kg pasta, 1kg rice
Tatties
Chicken (Lots!) 2 x chicken breast, 1 x chopped fillets (whoopsied) and a whole chicken for dinner tomorrow
Sausages (24 for £2.78)
There was plenty of other little things, but all in all I'm quite happy with this.
Total spend today was £88.97 which is actually less than I thought!!!
****
So, in total I was able to get 12 decent portions of mince out of that, 11 of which are in the freezer. I also froze 1 portion of diced chicken and split the chicken breasts into 3 portions. I have divided up the sausages - 12 have been frozen in bags of 4 and the rest are going to be Sunday Breakfast and some in the leftovers meal on Monday.
I have a whole roast chicken which shall be dinner tomorrow. I have plans for the leftovers there too. I think a meal plan may be in order shortly....the last one is still in my purse :rotfl:
I have done another 3 hours of overtime today which brings me up to 7 for the month. This works out at about £75 before tax. I would like to do more but if I work too much I end up cranky and sleepy (According to Mr Fresian, and we had massive domestics towards the end of last year, in part because I was so narky!)
Right, meal plan to decide what best to do with my overflowing freezer

Meal Plan
Sunday - roast chicken, mashed tatties, peas & gravy
Monday - cheat's chicken cassoulet
Tuesday - fried fish
Wednesday - Out for dinner
Thursday - Stew
Friday - Chilli
Saturday - Chicken casserole (Chicken thighs)
Sunday - Roast pork belly
Once I've used the fish and the stewing steak I will have a little more freezer room for the leftover chilli that I will undoubtedly have on Friday. The pack of chicken thighs is huge too, so using that means more space and I can make bolognaise the week after.

Money - is there any?
Usual budgetary updates are going to be more frequent as I attempt to keep myself on the straight and narrow :rotfl:
Spends - £55.30 Although I still need to pay Mr Fresian's overdraft interest and credit card from this.
PAD - £39.72
Entertainment - £29.23 (Took friend out for lunch today as thanks for ferrying me to supermarkets etc. Closest budget I could use was this one!) Transferred money into PAD account as I paid cash, so it will go to Barclaycard I think eventually.
Groceries - £107.34
Purse - £9.75
There are a mere 27 days till payday. It's looking a lot more doable than I thought it would. I'm going to be really sick of mince soon though...:rotfl:

I've done a bit of BingoPorting and have sat and comped for ages. I'm tired now :rotfl:
I still have about 50 to enter to catch me up. Time for breakfast I think.

I rarely tire of mince- so many things you can do with it!
Sounds like you're doing really well with grocery challenge at the moment. It's always inspiring hearing about peoples meal plans etc.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
