    Right, have done all of the competitions I had been saving - almost 30 of them :eek:

    I haven't done anything else of much interest today as I'm still ill and using this as an excuse for laziness :D

    I did open a savings account with Tesco today for 250 Clubcard points which, if I understand the theory correctly, will make £10 of reward vouchers. I think I can use these for cinema tickets to take Mr Fresian to the movies. Does anyone know how these work?

    Cinemas? Yeah, you hand over money for tickets then go through to a large darkened room with lots of seats inside. There's a big screen at the front on which you'll be able to see adverts, a few trailers then the movie you have chosen to see.

    And, if you're a good fresian & living within your budget, you can buy popcorn to eat while you're there

    @ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82

    You clearly didn't see me and kissjen the last time we went to the movies - large handbags overflowing with sweets we brought ourselves. Cinema prices?? I think not!

  • You will get a club card points statement every 3 months, I think the next one is due in November. You can then (online or over the phone) order a deal (ie the cinema tickets). Tesco will then send you paper vouchers for you to handover. Dead easy!
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23

    Insurances:

    Home insurance £16.48 per month. Hard to find someone who will insure us as we have lodger. Tesco home insurance will be £5 per month cheaper when lodger goes and we will get Accidental Damage cover which we're not allowed at the moment. Does charge damn near 22% interest for not paying all at once though. Urgh.

    Life/Critical Illness £29ish per month. This is just for me and only covers my mortgage. I can get Life for £5 per month through Tesco (I have been on their website for ages!!) and get a £50 Tesco giftcard for taking it, making it £10 for the year in MSE terms. I have a lump sum benefit through work for critical illness anyway which costs me a couple of pounds per month so I think the mortgage benefit is overcharged and unnecessary. What do you think People Of The Internet? I think the policy I have also covers for redundancy, but doesn't pay out if it's voluntary.

    I have free personal accident insurance through the Union and free travel insurance through my A&L current account so I don't think I need a lot of insuring to be honest.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Given your type of employment, life and illness cover are often standard parts of the contract especially if they offer a pension scheme. Have you checked to see if you have any? Maybe be very MSE and FREE :j

    I have death benefit of 4x current salary which would repay mortgage and leave Mr Fresian a lump sum to ease his grief (And he calls me morbid!)

    I pay extra for Critical Illness through work but it's about £3 per month for me and pays more than I would need to repay mortgage. I get 6/8 months full pay for illness.

    I'm thinking I don't need the mortgage cover but I'm scared to cancel :rotfl:

    Days until payday 10

    Spends = £50
    PAD = £41
    Entertainment = £33.15 which will more than cover dinner on Thursday
    Groceries = £105.38
    Purse = Fluff and not much else

    There are a couple of things to come off the accounts - Dominos (bad, bad, bad. Oh so tasty though!) and spends on cold cures. I will be going to the supermarket tomorrow as well. All in all though I'm lasting quite well.

    I've done lots of quotes for home insurance etc which has been dull and not very profitable, so more on that tomorrow. Why won't places quote for flat insurance online??? I want my Quidco dagnammit!!
