Well thanks to Anics post i rung and was lucky enough to have really nice customer service staff and i did kick up a stink and emailed manager originally who said they were no longer in stock so tough luck really. So i complained big time(and as i said had really nice customer service staff which i havent before) and said well as you would have sent me one but they were out of stock well now you can as they are showing in stock! I also brought up that a friend had one sent who ordered after me.Also that i must spend £4000 a year with them so its not much to ask.
Anyway they sent one and free too!!! ..gesture of goodwill so im well chuffed. So thanks again Anic.
By the way if you dont get one dont be too gutted its not that great but for free its excellent.:T

Good for you - I'm glad I helped.

The customer services person I spoke to wouldn't really see my point of view and I got the impression her view was "tough it's been cancelled so you will need to buy it again at full price". I will see if I still have the e-mail they sent me telling me it had been delayed and respond via that e-mail address. If not can you pm me the address of the manager you e-mailed so I can complain about they way I was treated!!!!!

Got my letter today stating that they couldn't get further supplies. Ah well you win some you lose some.

I got the letter too, yet my order has not actually been cancelled.

I called tesco today to see what is going on, at first they denied thery were still selling it and that the site hadn't been updated. However, I've now discovered the truth.

The item IS available. However, Tesco have changed the item number. Therefore if your £1 order is still showing as pending you'll never actually get it.

Why can't they just be honest and say it was a misprice or something rather than pretending the item isn't available when it obviously is?

Sorry i just wrote it to the manager(unsure who he was). I did this the first time i ordered. This time when i saw it advertised again i just got as far as the supervisor.
Tesco are very naughty(changing the order number). When i rung they kept saying that it showed as not for sale anymore until i said its here right in front of me on my computer showing as for sale agai.I said look on your website!
The people i had again were exceptionally nice though as ive rung a few times and some just fob you off as they cant/wont sort it out.
    Good luck

Emailed them yesterday to ask when they would be despatching my order as they now had back in stock the product they said they could no longer obtain further supplies of

They replied with - We can confirm we have new stocks in for the Dyson clean up pack. If required, please order

I replied with - As my orders are still showng in my account i dont really need to re-order, my e-mail was to ask when my orders already placed in may 2006 would be delivered? As you now have stock of the goods you clearly stated that you where unable to obtain i was asking when you would now be fulfulling my orders?

They replied with -As the order had been cancelled previously, we are unable to re-instate this. If the order is still required, you will need to place your order online. The information relating to the original order will eventually be removed from the order page.

This is not really about them sending the goods as some you win, some you lose but to blantantly lie through their teeth is bleedin disgusting, i cannot believe a massive company like this lies through their teeth to their customers.......................any ideas on what my reply should be?
  • Perhaps you should threaten to expose them on MSE!

After reading on here the other day that they had more stock online, i went and had a look and rang them to find out when mine would be delievered. I made 4 orders of a single one each time and they still show in my order history and not as cancelled.

The lady said 'they didnt have anymore of them and wouldnt be getting anymore', so i said they are currently on the site and she said no they are not. I told her it was in front of me and i was looking at it there and then so she said 'they shouldnt be as we dont have them anymore'. I got fed up with arguing with her so left it at that.

When i got off the phone i decided just out of curiosity to order one (or try as they were not suposed to have them anymore and i expected to get 'out of stock' message) so i put it in the basket, went to checkout and paid and said it would be delivered 2-3 days i think it was.
All this time im thinking i will probably get an email to say they havent got anymore stock etc.
Well yesterday guess what turned up, parcel man with dyson kit.

Im so mad really to have been lied to and messes about and really not sure what to do now. I know some of you may think its not worth the bother and hassle which i can se eyour point but when they outrightly lie to you thats so wrong and unacceptable.

I feel like ringing them and saying can you tell me when i will be sent my order (for the £1 items) etc and then when they say they dont have anymore supplies, say something like 'oh well does that mean this one i got delivered (£19.99) is from the fairies and im not going to get charged'.

    Any suggestions what to do?

    Give em hell, jaxxy00!
My thinking is that they have broken a leagally binding contract and should be reported to trading standards.

They are blatantly lying about stock levels, and if they really didn't have any in stock then they'd have a leg to stand on in such an argument. But they do, so they don't.

Jus ring Tescos and tell them what you did (about ordering and getting one, etc) and if they don't honour an already exisitng legally binding contract, you'll speak to Trad. Standards. This should frighten the pants off them. No one is bigger than them cos they can stop any firm from trading at the drop of a hat. And will. Tescos et al!

I hate Tesco's. They think they can do what they like but I think they're jus bullying b******s!

I'd better not continue cos the language may not stay so clean on this family site!

    Grrrrrr! But good luck!

    Grrrrr!!!!
I wish i could have recorded the conversation i just had when i phoned them. I was trying to make notes etc but obviously you cant get everything written down in time.

Just phoned and got through to orders, and spoke to someone called Pauline, took my details are asked was it about the party pack and told them yes ive had it delivered, does that mean i will receive my other orders for the same thing.

She looked it up and i told her that i placed last weeks order out of curiosity as they told me they hadnt got any and they shouldnt be on the site, and yet i got it delivered. She said that there was a problem with the other orders and she put me through to a lady called Lynn.

She told me that the previous orders were not sent due to a problem but i could order more online. I asked if there was more stock and she said it showed 3 more available. I then asked if she could place the orders for me (so i would get at the previous prices) and she said she was unable to as they cant do that anymore. I then told her that one of the options when you phone is if you want to place an order over the phone but she said it had to be done online and then said the reason was because the site was being updated. So i asked when that would be sorted but she didnt know.

I asked her if she thought the reason why i didnt get the previoous orders was due to the price and she said that they were £1 when ordered with a hoover but i told her that wasnt the case and people had received them and them alone. She admitted that maybe the reason i didnt get them was because they had priced them wrong. I said that i wasnt happy to have been lied to last week and who could i contact, she gave me an email address which is the standard customer services.

I have requested the pack to be collected and they are getting it tomorrow.

Just goes to show that they are liars and try and cover up.
