Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I bought a Panasonic plasma this week from them - they have a few good deals on at the moment.

By the way - Sony have stopped making Plasma screens, just lcd's from now on
Did you buy your Panasonic from Dixons or John Lewis? Was it a HDTV ready model and if so, how do you find it when running a normal analogue signal or even a digital siganl from a digibox?

Check the avforums.com John Lewis price match thread in the plasma forum to see which dealers they are currently price matching. JL will price match and give you the five year warranty even if the opposition aren't offereing it.

Ive been considering a new TV for a few years, yeah a long time I know but I originally wanted the Sony NX32 100S CRT 100Hz stuning picture then it was replaced with the 200S and Plasma came along at stupid prices then LCD now the new thing is HD which I experienced for the first time in 2002 I think it was at Epcot in Florida and was blown away so it is the way to go I think. Unfortunatly in the UK we are way behind and everything is changing so fast that at the moment I wouldnt buy anything unless your current TV dies and then I would buy a reasonably cheap CRT with the view of replacing it once everything settles down.

LCD as mentioned before by alexjohnson has a halo arround anything that moves and that looks crap considering that LCD costs alot more than the older CRT that dont show this problem. Plasma also show this but nowhere near the same and is watchable so my choice would be plasma if I had to buy a new TV now but I dont so I will be sticking with my current CRT till it dies. You also have the confusion of the HD 1080i and 1080p the i is cheating buy a 1080p but they are few and far between and much more expensive.

The screen burn issue that people keep going on about does occure in all screen types it just takes longer to happen on LCD, I have removed PC LCD screens with screen burn some of the first ones I installed about 6 years ago.

Panasonic who are the leader in this field do not produce LCD larger the 37" as they can't match the quality of plasma at these larger sizes. They should know a thing or two about this I guess.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
