high of getting paid has already faded, and I'm now worried I've over-estimated how much I can save this month. Have managed to top my savings for the overdraft to £1171.39 which is great. Was hoping to build on this with ebay sales etc, but now can see I actually may end up dipping into it. This could mean I don't hit my target of paying off the overdraft by end of April.

There are always so many things to pay out for, and my life is reatively low key at the moment!

oh well, have managed the following:

    listed 4 items on ebay
found several further items for ebay
paid £17.51 made from phone recyling

not been on here for a little while, but have slooowly been chipping away at the remaining debt. Three weeks to go until I get paid again and can send a letter to my bank advising that I no longer require their overdraft!

actually quite suprised that I have been able to save so much in such a little time, has been a real incentive to get some savings built up.

however, I do have a confession. In order to free up enough money to put aside against the overdraft, I have allowed myself to pay for a number of things on my credit card. So, say if I pay £50 on food using my CC i take the same amount and put it into savings.

Not too worried about this as the card is now at 0% and I can pay it the following month I ditch my overdraft (only stands at £200.16). Only thing is I should probably be honest and add it into my sig....so here goes....

oh. doesnt look half as good now. humph. i keep feeling like someone who has almost completed a run only to turn a corner and find they've added another mile on!

well another payday and another milestone! have managed to put enough cash into my current account to clear the overdraft. also sent a letter to my bank advising to take off the OD facility, so there's no going back now!

however, whilst i've been concerntrating on that i seem to have lost slight control of my credit card and it has now crept up to £486.45! quite annoyed as i seem to always have to buy something lately.

so my next aim is to clear that in full next month. will make things a little tight (as they will be this month!), especially as I seem to have run out of things to ebay etc now.

oh well, keep plodding on. it will be a lovely feeling next payday when I look at my account online and its my full pay as a plus!

Wow, didn't realise how long it had been since I'd been on here!

Looking at my last post makes me laugh, I was worried as my credit card stood at nearly £500. Well now is a round £1500. Humph.

Still, it's now my only debt so I can work hard at blasting it. This month is a bit of a write of as I have [STRIKE]car insurance (£258)[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]car tax (£68.75)[/STRIKE], car MOT (£40) and....car service (£120) all to pay for.

With this in mind my aim this month is simply to stay within my weekly budgets and not spend anymore on my card. Am half tempted to up it up, but I havent quite got the confidence yet!

Apart from this I am going to try ebay again. Its been a while, but I have some decent dresses that I never wear that may make a couple of pounds.

    Let the money saving recommence!

  • So here I am again, new year and at £900 left I'm not far from getting there!

Have joined the 1 Debt Vs 100 Days challenge to give me a boost in shifting this last amount. As I've sold anything of value, there's not much else I can do now apart from wait for the paydays roll by to pay off this last figure. Hopefully, this should be within the next 2/3 months.

So in the meantime (and so I do go mad!), I'm planning what changes I can make when said debt is paid off. So far I have:
    • Save set amount each month by setting up DD to a savings account
    • Put set amount in a seperate account each month to cover haircuts/christmas/car costs/birthdays/dentist etc
    • Book a nice but cheap holiday!
    • Allow myslef to buy some decent clothes
    • Put aside a set amount for holidays/days out etc
That's it! Nothing revolutionary, but all stuff I've missed out on doing the last few years...roll on april!

Additionally, I'm going to start adding more 'to do' lists as, after reading other diaries, I can see they really help with motivation. So here goes. Tomorrow I will:
    • [STRIKE]Wash all dirty clothes[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Wash and change bed sheets[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Go for a walk (0.75hr)[/STRIKE] Walked at least 3m yesterday
    • [STRIKE]Complete an OU task (2.00hr)[/STRIKE]
    • Spend 10mins cleaning each room ([STRIKE]bed 1/bed2[/STRIKE]/bathroom/[STRIKE]kitchen/front room[/STRIKE]/[STRIKE]back room[/STRIKE]) (1.00hr)
    • [STRIKE]Buy course DVD off eBay[/STRIKE] Put in bid
    • [STRIKE]Write to gran (0.25hr[/STRIKE])
    • [STRIKE]Put up next week's diet sheet[/STRIKE]
    • Organise credit transfer
I've just put a duration next to the things that are going to be time consuming, and comes to a total of 4 hours. Which is doable.

Also want to factor in some relaxing time, so also planning to:
    • Find a good film to watch on sky
    • [STRIKE]Cook at least one proper meal[/STRIKE]
    • Pamper self: [STRIKE]shower, wash hair, do nails, face mask, shave legs[/STRIKE] :o
    • Afternoon nap!

okay, a week to payday and I'm struggling!

    have the following in:
    £30.02 bank
    £04.00 cash
    £09.69 eBay
    £43.71

    and the following coming out:
    [STRIKE]£25.00 owe friend[/STRIKE][STRIKE]
    £05.00 owe mother[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]£05.00 lunch with friend[/STRIKE][STRIKE]
    £04.32 need to pay cc
    [/STRIKE]£39.32

    balance:
    £43.71
    £39.32 -
    £04.39

haha, not much for a whole week! and that's if I manage a cheap lunch out. have no other sources of cash so will have to seriously cut back.

right, this means I'm going to do the following:
    • take lunch/snacks into work
    • use our food money to ensure I do not run out of lunch stuff
    • have NSDs on tuesday, friday, sunday (at least!)
wish me luck. its going to be one boring week!

Paid! so this means I have a shiney new sig:
    Light Bulb 03/2009 ___DFD 03/2011
    Highest 3630.84___ Current 800.00___
    MBNA Card [STRIKE]2130.84 [/STRIKE]800.00 ____Overdraft [STRIKE]1500.00 [/STRIKE]Paid :j

As you can see I'm not going to make the March deadline, so I suppose I should update it....now looks if it is going to be the start of May. And thats if I keep things really tight. Would like to book a summer holiday, so taking that cost into account I am probably looking at June.

June would work out ok, as I'd then have exactly 6 months of the year remaining. Always good to have a half year for doing savings sums!

So I guess its going to be slowly but surely...
