The thing we have alls tarted doing if we "have" to go out on a nigh out! everyone (about 5/6 folk) come round mine about 7 on a weekend- they all bring drink so i rarely have to buy any we have a drink / get drunk! at mine and head into town at about 11pm. Got to a club have one or two drinks and walk home meaning it rarely costs more than a tenner!!
Good luck

Thanks salduck! We do tend to arrange our nights out like that as it can save so much money. Only trouble is I tend to go spend crazy after a few drinks, so sometimes it's better to avoid them all together!
Good news, have nearly very almost paid off my credit card (£10.85 left). Loving the 'Buy it Now' option on eBay as three people have already purchased and paid so in the passed few days have made £13.44 in profit. Not masses but it went straight on my card, as did some pounds that were hanging around in my account but weren't part of any budget.
So just over a tenner to go! Am determined to make this from eBay too, rather than using money from my weekly budget. I have 4 remaining items on eBay, and plan to add some more on tonight.
The finish line is so close, I'm excited! :jNOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
Done, Done and Done!
Just paid off the remaining £10.85 on my credit card. I gave up with waiting for ebay to earn me enough money and paid it out of my own budget instead. Figured it would be better to be slightly broke now but have it paid off completely. Besides I can continue to make money off eBay during the month and effectively pay myself back.
Feels good but slightly unreal at the moment! Can't get my head around no longer having to throw loads of money at it each month including wasting money on the interest.
Going to give myself a break for the rest of the month and just concerntrate on living. Besides I have little to no money left to continue debt clearing! Will start again next month, by which time I should have my savings account set up to aid in attacking my overdraft.
What a good day!NOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -

My ebay session went okalthough no-one seems to want to buy my buy it now items
Got quite a few No 7 items and they're down at £2-£3 apart from the full size ones I have which are priced at £5, still £3 cheaper than boots! Just glad that some of my junk is finally moving

well done bevan! eBay's great because you end up with lovely clean rooms as you make money
you have reminded me I need to do some more!
been a little off the boil with money saving since I cleared my credit card, hence the lack of posting. As a reward to myself I stopped tracking my money for the last week or so. Not gone crazy (don't have the money to!), but it was more to have a mental break from it all. Get paid in a week and a bit so will get back into tracking with my new pay.
Since I've finished the 1 debt Vs 100 days challenge and the birthday challenge I'm going to have to find something else to motivate me. Suprised myself with how much the challenges helped. It obviously brings out my competitve side! Going to pop over to the challenges list to see if I can find something...NOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
hmm. really should get back onto this money saving business. have found that not having a big scary credit card hanging over me has made me ridiculously relaxed!

- stop spending money on frivious things, such as today's costa hot chocolate complete with marshmallows and whiped cream
ahem. weel, that should do for starters....NOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
Not only have I not managed to set up a savings account, I've not saved any money to put into it either!
Overcome with the relief of paying off my credit card I have been spending like I have no debt at all. Keep telling myself I'm 'allowed' as I've worked so hard. This is fine until I find I've somehow spent the £100 that was meant for overdraft debt this month. grrr. so annoyed with myself!
Just got sick of walking around in second-hand/faded/slightly deo-stained (lovely!) clothes so i went out and blew a load of cash on some cheap basics. This is fine, but I've got the bug now and don't seem to be able to motivate myself to get back into recording all spending, using vouchers to get xxp off. It all seems so dull!
Need to give myself a proper kick up the bum as I am getting to the point where I'm considering using my credit card again. Very scary, but very tempting!NOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
Cut your card up. Buying basics is fine, especially if you've been wearing older worn out stuff for a while, but whilst you have paid off the credit card the Overdraft is till a debt. I too am struggling at the moment so I know how you feel, but the sooner you pay off the OD the sooner you can start doing what you want with your money rather than owing to any anyone else.
