Wilf big hugs my friend. We are not getting disheartened. You cannot possible do all of that before October so lets cut your list now! (Sorry I'm taking on the voice of our lovely Toots whilst she is not here).

You sound really down and we don't want that. I'm not going to give you marriage advice for that's not my place but kids I can! You do masses for your DS and I know golf is not cheap so a payback is required. I'm sure he is a lovely lad but he needs training not to be useless (I am mother of the DoDo remember!). There are lots of things that require no skill that he could do like sorting washing, putting dishes away, mowing the lawn, hoovering, cleaning inside of windows, general fetching and carrying. DD2 how busy can she be with college? If she helped for 30 minutes a day that would make a big difference.

Now go edit that list before I get PenPen to tamper with your posts!

    thanks dusty

i have no idea how long she has been asleep, she has been playing in her room since i finished it this morning(apart from having somethingt o eat) and about half hour ago i went to check on her because it was a bit quiet and she was fast asleep on her bed! bless

i think i might actually unscrew the blowers off the wall and clean all inside them and then put them back together and put the heating on - only to test it mind :rotfl: how long should i leave it on???

Dusty thank you, her cold seems a little better this afternoon, although she is still running a temp, hopefully me doing her bedroom and cleaning in places i had forgot about will help a little more!

Bathroom and Kitchen DONE 2 STARS PLEASE TOOTS xx :D:D

Thats it though this week i will start again on monday.

After the leak i have decided to decorate so my list

    Strip off paper

Decide between the three different papers i picked

Pick new carpet / laminate can't make my mind up. Does anyone have any pro's and cons?

    Decide on a paint colour.

Cleared away all dvd's and cd'd and finally cleared the porch of the shoes and relocated to the storage racks.

Get as much out of the living room as possible due to the new flooring going down.

Look for a new DVD player with surround sound to replace damaged one. Original cost nearly 400.00 insurance to replace with a similar spec 149.00 !!

Hope all are well and Hugs for everyone who needs them xxxxx

    thanks everyoone

whole house is a sh*t tip but writing it down on here has caused me to weed out somethings already

thing is mum and dad here approx 25 oct so that is a target deadline..
want the house done regardless as it really is getting me down...amongst other things
getting to the stage where i feel i cant cope anymore
want to get the house done cos want to do things for myself which i cant settle down to do whilst the house is like it is - study, do family tree, make cards scrapbooking etc

i have decided that if i face up to the face that i have to do it myself then any help is a bonus!!
daughter is going to help me decorate but money is really tight so this is an issue
think she is depressed and unmotivated - who wouldnt be living like this but think when she starts seeing things done then she will help more not making excuses think i am telling it how it is..

    thanks for support guys

I am going to prep my veg for a beef stew for tea then i might just have a bit of a tug at the wallpaper i am itching to get it off so we can crack on.

    back soon x

Hugs Wilf xx it will be better when you can see a difference for all your hard work. Just take it steady and don't try to set your pace too fast as if you can't manage your mini goals it could lead to you not wanting to do any more thinking 'Whats the point'

Babysteps and dot to dotting one room at a time always helps. I was a wandering flyer a bit here a bit there since being on here i always do one room at a time and it works great for me.

    Good luck hun xx

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper Photogenic
Have been to town, given blood, looked round M&S (lots of useful work clothes, but I'll see what people wear at the new place before I cough up for anything!), bought some books and found a new (well, I obviously haven't been into town for 3 months!) sushi place has opened, so have had miso soup with tofu and FAR too much salmon & tuna sushi for lunch! So now I need to get going, as I'll have to start getting ready to go out at 5

Wilf - how about you get a notebook and make a list for each room on a separate page? I have this, and each page ranges from the achievable to complete fantasy :o. Don't put anything on there that will come up on the regular flying lists - do the windows/dusting etc as it comes round on Pigpen's lists. Maybe you could divide the work that needs doing in each room into different levels as with the flying lists so that you can prioritise. That way you'll know that you need to declutter and clean before bothering to paint etc. Also, break things down, so rather than 'paint room' put 'paint walls; paint ceiling; paint skirting; paint window' etc so that you can see you're achieving things. Hopefully you'll be able to source a lot of the stuff you need via freecycle - if you're using it to declutter, you should be posting wanteds too! And make sure you come on here to let us know how you're getting on - you know we'll support you!

Suppose I should get going again...
