Poohbear - i'm glad your dh is home and hope the painkillers don't wear off for a while. Ouch!

Looking at our banking....I can't believe how much money we used to waste! The direct debits are now down from over £700 to £450.....what a waste of blinking money!! Oh well, at least we're not wasting the money now.

Right, 15 minutes proper flying.....i'll be back xx

Thanks! He is having a quiet time watching some sports programme. DSs are being really helpful and digging foundations outside. (Those who are out of bed!)
I have been going through our direct debits again today and can't find anywhere else to save money:( I have done everything Martin recommends.

(((hugs))) pooh. Have you bitten the bullet and cancelled the charity DDs? All my charity stuff was done through Give As You Earn, so they won't be getting anything this month - I'll set it all up again when I'm back at work.

I hope the rest of the family are being supportive and understand what you're trying to do and why.
  • Taken DD2 to gymnastics this morning so she's shattered and in bed. DD1 is going to help me make chocolate butter icing for DH's birthday cake in a minute. Its not his birthday until tomorrow but I'm working tomorrow night so we're having a party tea tonight of HM Pizza with HM wedges then birthday cake. Then after DD2's gone to bed DH, DD1 and I having a movie night and watching Marley & Me with a big bowl of sweets. (DD2's a bit little to sit and watch a film...I'm not being mean by leaving her out!)

Just need to get off my backside and do something now. I've got a really achy back today and just feel tired and a bit down tbh. Not sure why...not felt like this for a while.

Anyway, must pull myself together and get moving. Fortunately DH did the bedding on Monday so that doesn't need doing today.

    Welcome Pukkamum!

LL...hope you have a lovely day out. Happy Birthday to your DH.

Orkney....glad the potty training is going well. We attempted it a few weeks ago with DD2 but after only 2 wees in the potty over a 7 day period we abandoned it for a bit. She's 2yrs 8months now so hopefully she'll get it soon. Decided not to worry about it and try again in a few week time.

Will go and sprinkle liberal amounts of icing sugar on every surface in the kitchen and on the floor. That's what happens everytime I make icing anyway!

They are all ready at different times. DS is two and nearly 3 months, and am tbh, just seeing how he goes! Today he has told me 3 times when he needed a wee, and did a poop in his nappy during his supposed nap time (he didn't sleep!). He is not overly keen on potties and actually wees in the big loo (with a booster seat upstairs but without one downstairs).....perhaps your DD might like the big loo ?
Anyway, not put shopping away yet....but have been busy doing bits n bobs!
ETA Also sending hugs to all who are finding that money is really tight just now. Sometime I forget how lucky we are.....DH is not well paid (and I am a SAHM for now) but thankfully we have no debts, well apart from the mortgage, so although things are tight we do manage. I really hope that you all start to see light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of you seem to be listing stuff on ebay/amazon etc......please let me know any of you if you list any boys stuff (age 2 and beyond) as I might take a wee looky-see on there ;).
Anyway, sorry for the waffle (Pigpen you have permission to send me lines.....I must fly and not chat, I must fly and not chat.....)- take care everyone.

Every bit of flying I do today is a real forced effort. I have finally done the bamboo leaves outside - I hate that job, and started on DS2 bedroom.

DS3 refusing to go to swimming lessons any more. I'm a bit cross as it is a DD thing which I can end after this payment. I wanted him to finish the last 4 but he is crying now so I guess it is just not worth it. He did the same with Judo, no new clubs which involve any commitment will be being started.

Going to finish DS2 room with my cuppa and then DS3 and I will be going to Tesco whilst he should have been at swimming.

Poohbear -I know what you mean about saving money. Sadly our last saving is because we're no longer paying the cat insurance. We've saved so much with the DD's because before we used to be so bad with money. I can't believe we used to pay nearly £100 a month on family gym membership that we hardly used. We never shopped around for insurance etc....scary isn't it.

Wilf - I hope your daughter gets to go to college. Our children are only 8 and 10 and I dread to think what college / university will cost if they go.

JJ - I hope it helps...are yours back at school yet?

Flying - another load out of the washing machine and everything hung so it doesn't need ironing. Sitting down for 15 mins before I do a hhc at 3pm if anyone wants to join me xx

I cancelled them online this morning. Still feeling guilty but at least no more payments for them will go out.
I cancelled my 7.99 subscription to lovefilm too. Every little helps, I know. DD has been good and paid me back for deposit I paid on holiday cottage. I still need to get last bits of cash back from DSs. They don't seem to understand at all.

And DH has written a cheque for the dentist and we have no money in our current account. I still have to go into town and take all the old Building Society books to see what we have there. It could be as much as £100!

You have just reminded me DS1s landlady owes me for his deposit from last year. That is £260. :T

wilf Your daughter has my full sympathy.

I haven't done anything much at all today... apart from the odd bit of paperwork and pottering. I could easily have made time for a decent walk, but the weather is just sapping my energy.

And now it's time to get ready, as I have to drive to Staines for my leaving do. There's no easy way to get from here to Staines by public transport, so I'm going to have to drive... which is probably a good thing!

Just need to work out what to wear... shower first though!
