Really struggling to stay on task today.

Decluttered DS1&2 to the golf course
DS3 wearing his new shoes to break them in.

Think I'll have lunch and then see if I can get something done.

I must be going through a feeling guilty phaze. DH, who as you know is depressed, and not working, has had to go to the dentist to have his front teeth out today. I was busy on the phone to Equifax checking why they had double charged us for our credit reports and he waved and left the house. After he had gone I remembered he was going to the dentist and I didn't say anything or go with him for moral support. He still isn't back and all I have done since 11am is wander around feeling guilty.

Before he went he vacuumed and mopped all of downstairs and hung out three loads of washing. He was doing all he could because he won't be able to do much because of bleeding again. And I was flapping about £4 going missing.

BTW for anyone who is new he is more of a flylady than me.

I need to do some flying to take my mind off him. He could be another hour yet before he comes home. I will get one of myDSs to help me in the bedroom.

Okay well I'm having a go at decluttering my bedroom - TBH at the moment it's not going too well but I'm trying - some people would say very trying!

I've had some dinner so I suppose I'd better get back to it!

I went to get a drink of water and the water has turned white! I've been running the tap in the bathroom sink to try to make it go back to normal but it's all scummy and bubbly. Nasty! It's made me get out the brita water filter we got at the weekend - DH said I should have one as I drink loads of water and hte water round here doesn't seem to be of good quality, sometimes it smells of poo. I won't set it up until the water is better again tho.

I've washed up tho, the hot water is fine so that was ok.

THe trouble is that I'm terribly thirsty and the options are manky scummy water or beer!

Rose - I don't think you should drink the water. Could you use this as a reason to be brave and walk to a shop to buy a bottle of water? Or if there is no shop nearby, drive to somewhere not too scary?

Once you've sorted things out so you can drink, you need to ask your neighbours whether they are having problems with their water, and also call the water company to let them know you're having problems. It may be that the main is damaged somewhere, and if it smells of sewage, it maybe that there is a damaged drain too. If it is the water company's responsibility, they will then arrange for as supply of drinking water. Otherwise it is likely to be something for your landlord to deal with. If it is the main that is causing the problem, then your hot water tank will be filling up with this water too.

Let us know what progress you make.

Has anyone heard from toots recently? It's quiet without her!

    Good advice! Thanks!

I've phoned the water company and spoke to a very nice lady, she asked me to get a glass of water and see if it cleared from the top down or the bottom up and it was the bottom up so she said it's air in the pipes cos they've been working on a leak on the main road and it's safe to drink, and if I leave the glass of water for a few minutes all the whiteness will go away! So that's good then. :T She was really helpful, I know people moan about Thames Water but my opinion of them has improved.

    My list for the day:
    [STRIKE] Washing up
French lesson on way to CMHT[/STRIKE]
V14 form and cover letter to explain that car is at insurance company and we really do deserve a refund for our tax disc!
Sort out something for dinner (am defrosting something, just need to work out what to have with it)
Peel pots and cook them, mash them and freeze them (they are about to go off)
Peel carrots, cook them, have some for dinner and freeze the rest (they are about to go off too)
HEEL BALM feet twice today – they are so bad that the skin actually ripped my socks yesterday
    Write cards to people
    Sew up pink bra

    Welcome Pukkamum

ETA: Thanks Greenbee, good advice as always! I wouldn't have drunk it until I knew it was safe xx

Well I've just had a big declutter in the study (went through a box of stuff that moved in with us and hasn't been sorted out since - nearly a year ago now :o). I filled up the recycling bin with notes from my PGCE that I'm never realistically going to read again, so feel a bit better about the study now. It's still got a long way to go, but at least I've made a start. Trouble is, we've got both OH's and my stuff in the one space as we had had 2 desks, and now we just have mine and the computer and everything are on it so no much room to put stuff (I lost a shelf that went with my desk because of this). On another plus side, when I decluttered, I found £10 worth of Mr T vouchers. :T
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
