Poohbear -I know what you mean about saving money. Sadly our last saving is because we're no longer paying the cat insurance. We've saved so much with the DD's because before we used to be so bad with money. I can't believe we used to pay nearly £100 a month on family gym membership that we hardly used. We never shopped around for insurance etc....scary isn't it.
We used to be the same before the great LBM! These companies rely on people not bothering to shop around for cheaper insurance. They must hate M.S.E for turning us all into shop-arounders!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Well done for such a massive reduction in your direct debits :T

I am tempted to cancel home insurance, but that might be tempting fate! I am still listing books and anything else that sits still. DSs are convinced I am going to sell them too. But who would want a 19, 20 and 22 year old!Poohbear -I know what you mean about saving money. Sadly our last saving is because we're no longer paying the cat insurance. Kids go back next Wed - I go back next Mon.JJ - I hope it helps...are yours back at school yet?
I've got to take the kids swimming in just over an hour so I'd better put the bedroom back in some sort of order as by the time we get back it's nearly the kids' bedtime.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

poohbear, please try to avoid canceling your home insurance....I'd keep it is a priority along with any other essential bills (mortgage/rent), council tax, food, gas/leccie etc.poohbear59 wrote: »I am tempted to cancel home insurance, but that might be tempting fate! Don't even THINK about cancelling your insurance. It's too risky. Personally I'd cancel the phone first. You could sell the TV, cancel the TV licence and cut down on electricity consumption at the same time...
But do point out to your DSs that they need to pay their way, so either they help you with finding things to sell, they work for you so you have more time, or they work out how to contribute. Do you have a LETS scheme locally? You might be able to trade their labour for something useful - seeds etc. for winter planting of veggies or similar. Or homegrown produce...
I really MUST go and have a shower or I'll be late for my own leaving drink (not for the first time ) 0 ) 0

I have been AWOL for a couple of weeks so just popping in to say a quick Hi, I will be popping in and out this week as I will need to follow my own list for a while to get this house back into order Have scrubbed the bathroom today, so it's a start!!!!!
Am taking DD swimming in a mo then I need to write names onto uniforms and iron polo shirts( I know it's naughty leaving it to the last minute but we only came back yesterday).
Will try and pop on a bit later on and try and catch up with you all.

And thanks Greenbee, OOps I meant Orkneystar. Okay I will not cancel home insurance. I still have life insurance too. My neighbour has offered lots of veggies out of her garden. I will send one of DSs around for some.
DS1 and DS3 will be gone in a few days as they are off to college/uni and have no money to help us out and DS2 pays us £100 a month to live here. He is being very helpful with jobs around the house.
Flying wise... Kitchen is almost finished and I now have 106 books listed on Amazon. They are all mine and I might miss some but I can always get them out of the library. We have hundreds of books here so I can keep decluttering.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
