Which internet phone/deal?
Hi
I am currently at the end of my contract with O2. My phone is playing up so need a new handset. Usually i go for a cheapish deal - 200mins+texts+handset for £20-25 per month i think - but the lure of internet access is calling....!
Just trying to work out what the best handsets are for internet and how much its all going to cost me - finding it all a bit confusing
but i know its going to cost me more.....
Any pointers or deals please? doesn't have to be o2 as long as i can keep my number
Cheers

Look at the Nokia5800 or G1 on t-mobile for £30 including 800 mins/unlimited text/unlimited data for £30/m.
Plus quidco.
Any network will let you take your number.0 -

yes, its a popular phone. You can get the identical deal through dialaphone.co.uk and get £50 quidco cashback as well.
Do you use google a lot? like gmail and gtalk? If so, have a look at the HTC Hero on vodafone as well. It is called the G2 on t-mobile if you want to look there also. They are "google" phones, made by HTC but everything on the phone including the operating system is developed by google.0 -
yeah i do google for internet searching but use hotmail and facebook rather than gmail and gtalk
thanks for your other suggestions i will have a look at them0 -
the HTC/G2 has facebook integration into the phonebook. e.g. your friends statuses and pictures change in your phonebook automatically.
You can switch from hotmail.com to gmail quite easily if you like the phone.0 -
thanks
that sounds good but i can't find a HTC/G2 deal for <£35 at the moment. will keep looking.0 -

what model iphone, 2G, 3G or 3GS?
The above question only really matters if you like iphones. Sounds like you got some good o2 offers, especially the last one if it fits your usuage.0 -
hmmm don't know
i'm not sure about iphones, i've seen one and it does look good but a lot of hype?
would be costing me additional £10 * 18mths0 -
they are good phones, yes they are hyped because of the brand and image behind it. I personally prefer the google phones.
So yes, save money and pass on the iphone for the sake of £10 extra a month. The last deal you posted seems the best value for you (if its enough non-02 minutes for you).
