...Well next year, I'm living in a flat with no garden - I literally mean NO outside space - and was wondering whether it was possible to grow anything for the kitchen entirely indoors, like herbs. They'd have to be able grow in a little pot, from the light through windows... any suggestions would be appreciated :)

you could advertise to see if anyone locally has garden space they want using. Many elderly people now find that they dont have the energy to do much, but you could offer to help or just do their beds & grow in that. A proportion of the crops would be an appropriate payment
