hi all. am still putting money in my pot but there's not much to go round at the moment as i've just stretched myself paying of the last of the o/d's. but any change that comes through is directed to the pot. it'll be interesting to see how much we've all saved. will we have a grand total once everyone has posted their amounts?

    Hi all -

Managed to land myself a Saturday job training in a salon so that's another income to help me put more into the pot! Happy with that :) Hope everyone is doing well and their pots getting heavy! I need to get some money bags, do you just ask in the bank?

oooh i havent been on this thread for months but my jar has been steadily growing.

My DD who has justturned 2 is a change collector. If she she's coins anywhere she puts them straight in the jar, she even empties my purse into the jar whilst my back is turned. She evn collects change in other peoples houses which at 1st caused problems but now that its been explained to her she doesnt do it anymore.

As we have finished all our xmas shopping courtesy of tesco clubcard points and quidco - we might not open our jar ad continue to save it untul its full - its a massive sealed steel tube that DF made and work and welded together - so we need an angle grinder to open it which isnt an easy thing to do.

Off to trawl through the list to re-cover my number.

    found it No 552.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

A few small ones in my bottle today, seems to have stalled at 2/3 full though which is a shame but means I can set myself a target of filling it next year instead.

Hiya starnac, sparky has kindly offered to put everyone's total onto a spreadsheet and, yes, there will be a grand total from us all just as soon as everyone tells sparky their totals. Or from as many as we can possibly get totals from. Not long to go now!

Well done on your Saturday job Laura! Training in a salon will be a great benefit to you. To answer your question: yes, ask for bags in any bank, even POs too. You might need to take the bags in to change it with them at so much a time. Some of them are a bit 'funny' about it, others are brilliant. We always take ours to our local PO/shop and they change the lot in one go!!!

Well done LC 2, I have to hand it to you, you keep right on plugging away, ever determined to save as much as possible.:T

Much the same with you too Greenbynature! :T

Lovely to see you princesswoo! I well remember that sealed steel tube he made all that time ago, well done on keeping it going, you'd just as well do now you've got so far with it...especially as you've got the Christmas shopping finished! I see you little DD is a right young MSEer..though just as well you drew the line or you can just imagine her at school!! :D

An expensive week for us as some twit knocked out and smashed the nearside wing mirror of the car = £40! Then DH couldn't get on the internet with his PC so needed a 'something or other', another £40! We're just hoping there won't be a third to come out of the blue! Could have been a lot worse for sure.

Have a great day everyone...run between the spots! Well done scuba!

    Sue

    Hiya GBN,
If you've got one near to you, try B&M's, they usually have the large tins you have to open with a tin opener for about £1.99 ;). I've got mine already, so my celebrations tub will be going into the recycle bin on the 2nd of December :o, I'll miss it, it's served me so well :D
