Not to worry Helen, you've done so well anyway and at least you had the money there to fall back on, and your young lass was able to go. Start again and try to forget it for now, it's never worth doing any thing different anyway! A good idea not to count and get the surprise too.

I think I've put about £7 in over the weekend. I'm DETERMINED to do everything I can before I have to open it....I'm saving to be able to live with my boyfriend (finally!) as soon as my job is made permanent so I don't want to have to open it or I'll be back to square 1. knowing I have some money saved is a very nice thought

oh and does anyone put notes in theirs? I put some in at the start but I'm a bit worried that they will have been spoilt under the weight of all the coins :S

I put notes in, when I get a £10 lotto win that goes in, I wouldn't worry about it getting damaged, notes are quite tough

as sparky says they're quite tough. otherwise good old sellotape will sort them out if not.

£4 in the pot for me as i got 2x £2 coins as change on the bridge yesterday

I got a £2 coin in change today so but it straight in the pot no roadkill round myway they must all be skint or tight lol
