Presumably, some nutters got into a bidding war. At least one of them has been very lucky.;)0

I don`t know about nutters but my sister is very happy.

Oh no, I'm more than content, thanks. We refused to enter a bidding war on this place and, later, our buyer resisted a gazump attempt backed by the agent, so why should I be unhappy? Maybe the one under offer that another agent wouldn't let us view? Perhaps. It was £100k more though.....
If that place posted by Cannon Fodder is 'close,' then I've even more reason to be pleased, but value is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? I'm sure your sister's place is lovely.0 -

yes - it's in the south east - not very far from Windsor. It's nice but expensive.0 -

This one isolated incident that we only have your word for is proof enough for me that the entire housing market in the UK is booming again. First thing Tuesday morning I am going to borrow £150k to buy a !!!! house in a !!!! area before I miss the boat again.0 -

Its also close to the M25, M3 and Heathrow, I'm sure motorway and airplane noise is not worth half a million to me...
I guess the current 50mph limit for the roadworks on the M3 has boosted the price...0 -
I remember going there as a kid, very nice, how did it get its name? the name has always stuck with me.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
