I remember going there as a kid, very nice, how did it get its name? the name has always stuck with me.
The name came from the tobacco company. They experimented on beagles round there. Used to dump the carcasses in the water.

Its also close to the M25, M3 and Heathrow, I'm sure motorway and airplane noise is not worth half a million to me...

I guess the current 50mph limit for the roadworks on the M3 has boosted the price...

Bloody nightmre. Took me more than twice, probably thrice as long as it shoud have to get into London on Friday, and the static traffic made the car sick. Weirdly, something I've never seen on a friday, let alone a Bank holiday, the traffic going west was never stationary, but rather going in towards London was the problem. Totally odd, more like a Monday than a Friday.

It is those dam caravans that do it around here

Virginia Water has always been an expensive area. I hope the sale goes through with no hitches for your sister.

Generally things block up at stonehenge, and on the stretches of single carriage way, but vtehre are enough dual carriage way bits to not sit behind caravans etc for most bits (Fir and mon excluded.) When we came out for weekends we used to leave very late when the road was clear.
  • A swallow just flew by. Hoorah. Summer is here just in time for the August Bank Holiday. What? One swallow doesn't make a Summer? Silly old doormat.
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

A303 - I'd sooner have root canal work - m4 and m5 for me every time - beats sitting at 35 (if you are lucky) waiting for the next short stretch of dual carriageway where you will soon be stationary as the traffic merges back down to 1 lane...

I sometimes M4 and drop down cross country, but, honestly, time it right, A303 is not bad, (I often beat the train times, legally.)but yesterday heading westbound was a dream:which really was bizarre. Besides which, I love seeing stonehenge. I never get bored of it, specially in bad weather, or dawn.

I think that what has to be remembered (this is me with my serious head on), is that in every property crash/recession etc, there will always be somewhere which is bucking the trend.

There will still be property hot spots just like in the boom, there was property eek spots, price rises and price falls are not uniform across the country.

Oh and the A303 is the most boring road I have ever had the 'pleasure' to drive along...
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

i have just done 600miles to longleat and monkeys world in Dorset and we had to come home late last night as the traffic was the worst i have ever seen in the uk. so i thought i would come home early rather than spend a day on motorways..the trip down the road to bournmoth was hellish.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
