What thickness are you going for? 20 or 30mm?

    20mm is just under £2k
    30mm is £2.2k

The problem is templating and fitting is £650 :(

How hard is it to install your own worktop??

With any solid surface, installing it yourself is nigh on impossible. You need the right tools and experience :(
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Good afternoon: can be a costly exercise best left to the pros though an experienced DIYer with the right equipment and skills set could tackle wood or laminate.

    Best wishes for the kitchen,MK.;)

Yeah, I could. I've priced it up and including fitting could get it done (on a weekend, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more, say no more) for just over 2k...

However, the distance between here and misskool is a slight problem...

  • If you want to pay for Corian - then do, but you dont need the thickness of Corian - but your opinion is yours... Corian have created a Brand - "rip off" is unfair really.

The words "hand" "cash" "in" would have been used, but not in that order :-)

The guys just aren't up for a 10 hour drive each way lol

Well, we have gone away from the Corian debate a long time ago, but seeing that you brought it up again...

Du Pont have created a brand with Corian, a VERY successful one. Encore is a cheap and nasty worktop, which is trying to get some of their market. It's used by kitchen companies who have no idea what REAL quality is...

Oh and the company I work for try to avoid Corian (we would NEVER even suggest Encore) as it isn't a good enough product to fit in with our ranges...
