  • Hello all

    CMD - :T
SH - i am still crossing everything, they looked at me funny when I did a crossed legged john cleese style walk into my interview today :D

Thank you for the well wishes, I did get the job, I have tentatively accepted it. The salary offer is what I was going to bargain them up to, so my conundrum is to bargain for more or accept as is. My gut feeling is to punt for another £500-1000 but that is more because I think you shouldn't accept the first offer. They have obviously thought about it to come up with the same amount as me. I have said I will look at the T&Cs and see what I think.

  • Well done PAID - fingers crossed they up the salary a bit more.

Congrats, that is fab news! I am no good at negotiating for money so I can't tell you waht to do. I reckon SavingH would be great at giving you advice when she comes online today!

Can't remember who asked me about Spain plans- think it was Snow White (hello!!!). Yes, Spain plans are back on track again. The plan is to overpay onour Scottish flat and sell that in a few years and have a hefty deposit for Spain. It isn't in negative equity yet, and I don't think it will be.

Obviously need to get rid of the debts as well.

Good morning everyone else. I have 2 weddings, one tomorrow and one in Spain on Tuesday. Happy days - and I got my hair cut and coloured so I look decent again!

Wow paid - you make job hunting look so easy! Really well done to you that is amazingly good news!

I still haven't heard anything but they did say it could be into next week before I did as a person is on a training course yesterday and today (who would be my direct manager) and my agent is at a wedding this afternoon!!!

I've been quite naughty this week spending wise which is not good but there is so much temptation / requirement to shop - son starting high school, my favourtie sister getting married a week on Sunday.... etc!

I have tried to put the frustration and anxiety on a back burner and have decided to sugar soap and paint 2 doors that were hung this time last year with a partial undercoat but which have never had a top coat!!! That should keep me out of mischief for a bit!

  • Snow white - use the microwave? No need to wash up pans then? I don't think I would ever make the fly lady thread either!
Would do but I don't have space in my tiny kitchen for a microwave. I don't think it'd be a good look in the living room (already have a freezer in the cupbaord!). Speaking of flylady, I managed to *shine my sink* yesterday! :T

PAID - that is great news about the job. I wouldn't have the courage to bargain up the salary, but I'm sure someone here can give you some advice. Wow, it just shows what a good decision it was to give up your last job, doesn't it?

SH - fingers still crossed for your job. Have fun doing the doors. My OH has been called into work tonight so I'm going to cook up a storm and hopefully fill the freezer with lovely meals so we don't have to cook (or wash up any pans) next week.

That's a great incentive to clear the debts though. My OH and I are hoping to move to Spain too, but it's waaay off in the future. Which part of the country are you looking at?
