I've applied for plenty of xmas temp jobs in that area so just waiting to hear. I think temp will probably have to be the way to go. Ive got work till the 15th Nov, and then we're looking to move at the start of december.

I know I need to get the debts in order, hence sending out letters to them all explaining the situation. May attempt going to CCCS and see if they can help us out more than payplan were able to.

Well fingers crossed you get something in that area and they take you on after Xmas as well! Maybe your OH should apply for the same type of work. How long are you staying with your sister?

    Hi all!

    Hope everyone is okay!

Have been wandering off the DFW to MFW (mortgage free wanabee) as we own a flat that we rent out in Scotland. There should be just 19 years left on it but because of sheer stupidity of us remortgaging there is 31 years left. Am tempted to try and reduce the mortgage by a few years as the repayments are not that much more (If the mortgage company allow me, as on a fixed deal). Even if I could get it down to 28 years and then review it next year if OH gets a pay rise. This is the flat that I am viewing as my stepping stone to moving to Spain in a few years. I want to sell it and have a big deposit for a house in Spain so I need to start reducing the mortgage on it. At the moment we own about 22% of it but want it to be at least 50% by the time we sell.

Decisions decisions! Well that is my thought of the day :)

  • lol CMD, decisions indeed.

Now what about that £14k of existing debt you have lady??? Have you worked out what the impact will be if you don't overpay the Mortgage until after the debt is gone and then throw all your payments equivalent towards the mortgage (either directly or by saving up a lump sum) until you head off for sunnier climes?

I got a new toy this morning, it is a fitbug and I am hoping it will be the motivation that I need to shift a stone or two from my bottom (which is mainly where it goes, it seems to like it there ) It is basically a glorified pedometer but there is online backup too for training goals and diet advice etc.

Am going to meet a friend today and see if we can get some el cheapo tickets for the theatre, I fancy La Cage Aux Folles but I am not sure if she is so keen although I will basically see whatever. The last thing I saw was Avenue Q which was brilliant (free tickets from work - how MSE is that)

Ho hum, I hope everyone has a good day today, seeeeeeee yaaaaaaaaaa

  • Hi PAID!

The fitbug sounds cool! One good thing about pregnancy is that I can stuff my face with chocolate and not worry about gaining weight! Ah no, to be fair I actually haven't put on much weight at all. It will probably pile on from 6 months!!!

    Enjoy the theatre too!

Re: mortgage idea vs outstanding debt. The credit card I have is 0% until next June so will continue to pay into that. There isn't a huge difference in %'s between the loan and mortgage (6.9% vs 6.19%) so my idea is to just up the mortgage payment by £50 per month which will impact quite a bit on how much mortgage interest we pay. Then with money left over, after savings for the baby I will overpay on the loan. I will aim to clear my loan first but in the meantime I want to make a bit of a difference on my mortgage, and £50 extra per month is manageable. Does that sound like it is making sense?

    Morning ladies!

Had a lovely time at the party on Wednesday night, so was glad I decided to go/was able to make it. The flat my workmate owns is absolutely gorgeous and would love to have something like that. So jealous. Though if I got the story right, I think the reason she has it, is because her mother died and probably left her inheritance...:(
On Thursday, I had a day off. Stayed in bed till midday reading as it was raining outside. Ended up not going to town, just got the wedding card and bought a voucher from nearby Clinton's. So no new dress, but will have to make do with what I got. Got my haircut though, and it's lush again, so loving it. In the evening went to the theatre, the show was good fun so was pleased with the free tickets. Tonight I have the wedding party, looking forward to that also.

    No further debt busting...

    Hi Tirlittan,

Sounds like you are having a fun week! Enjoy the wedding tonight too :)

No debt-busting for me either as I only have a work internet dongle so can't go on AQA and make some money. Am getting connected to BT today so will order broadband as soon as I am connected & then will hopefully make some more next week.
