Tixy - where I live there aren't any pubs:eek: we have one chippy which is closed on Sundays, one pizza place which was also closed (their pizzas are awful), a cantonese buffet (absolutely awful but ok if you want food poisoning and are not afraid to eat cat) and subway - I managed to get a meatball sandwich (erk) and a hot chocolate. I havent seen those cans of drink anywhere - I think they died a death.
Went to docs this morning though and he diagnosed mild hyperthermia and gave me a flu jab whilst he was at it, I have managed hot buttered toast, bacon sandwich (made from the huge bag of bacon bits from the butcher) for lunch and copious mugs of hot coffee. I am thawing out slowly.
There are now three large holes near my flat - by the jobcentre where they had problems before (it was the only patch of pavement without ice or snow on it because the junction thingy was overheating), there is another hole on the same side of the road but down by the pelican lights and yet another further down still and this morning they had closed part of the road off to do a bit of drilling. The cables here havent been replaced for about 60 years and I was told that folks were using too much electricity:rolleyes:
Numpty - you can laugh about knicker elastic but see how you cope when yours goes:p0 -

The Job Centre is a hole:p

Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P
I can remember my grandmother saying if your elastic snaps then keep on walking and let your knickers fall down and walk out of them! (maybe all grandmothers used to say the same) That said mine has never gone and as I only wear trousers it would be more uncomfy than drafty!
Fingers crossed for you Numpty.;)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
