    Hi all

I am trying to be cheerful when I don't feel so hot..have gippy tummy, bad head and equally bad cough so I am spending crimble on my own (have already started thawing a chicken crown and have some frozen spuds and veg so christmas dinner will be sorted). I have one satsuma left too:rolleyes: I really need to go out but cant be bothered - its too cold and too icy and I will probably break my neck just sliding to the pelican crossing:rolleyes: I shall hit the supermarket on Saturday when the mincepies will be reduced:rotfl:

..........mind you cats are warming sat on your knee.

One of our cats is not too well.

We had to call the vet out last night and we doubt he will make it through Christmas. My wife couldn't bear the offered option of 'putting him to sleep' as it is his (the cat's) 10th birthday today, so the vet gave him an injection to 'ease his pain'. Seemed to 'perk' him up quite well and he spent most of last evening on my lap, slept well and ate all of his food this morning, but he's not right.
The vet is calling by this afternoon, to see what is best.

Funnily enough, I have never been a 'cat' person, but you do get attached.

Never mind - am braving the M5 and M6 this afternoon as I go to give my youngest daughter a lift home for Christmas.

Have a warm day everyone - and hope you feel better soon, H.

    BUMP!!!!

Work and such like is making my time on here very intermittent - but I want to wish all those I have come to know here - a special happiness for this time of year, and a hope that what may have felt like a down turns out to be the place which is the start of an up - it often is! :T

    Hello all...
MF - lovely post. Hope you have a good Christmas & New Year and let's hope next year is the start of an upturn for all of us.

Rog - so sorry about your cat, you get really attached to them. Hope M5/M6 weren't too awful.

Horace - really hope you feel better soon, not a good time of the year to be ill.

Lula - glad it was knitting you were thinking of!

Numpty - hope you're on the mend.

Nargle - hope you're found a safe place for your turkey.

Tixy - hope you're feeling better.

Have I forgotten anyone? Really sorry if I have ....

Sorry to hear about your cat Rog. Hopefully the fact he has perked up will mean the vet has better news today.

H - sorry to hear you will be spending christmas alone, but if you are not feeling well then sometimes its hard to be festive around people. Still looks like some good TV at least. I might have to record a couple of things. I have been told that I am still welcome at the folks as hopefully I should be past the stage of passing on nasties to others. I shall take my PJs so that I don't have to drive home late on the country lanes if I don't feel like it. I am at last starting to feel a bit better.

Sorry to hear your kitty kat is poorly rog..my dad (nor me) wasnt a cat person but he grew attached the non-user friendly cat that mum adopted and was distraught when it passed away.

Its snowing hard here - but feel the need to go out tomorrow to get a few bits from the supermarket (I am bored with cheese sandwiches).

2010 is going to be a better year for all of us - I just know it.

Stay safe on the roads too - the M5 and M6 are not too hot at the mo.

Good morning all, snowing like boogery here. Rog - sorry about pussums, give him lots of love. Horace - cosset yourself and spoil yourself rotten this Christmas. Numpty, solvent, Tixy, Lula and everyone else - ditto. By 'eck, we deserve it, don't we?

Turkey bulletin - I was wrong about the weight - it is just 5.5 kgs but still a biggun. It is currently in its cardboard box, taped up, wrapped in a dustbin bag and sitting on the garden bench. Will do a sit rep on the turkey when I get home - if the cat nicks it he will have to replace it.....:eek:
