Afternoon all..I was up early this morning trying to catch Brian the landlord's workman but it seems that he is skiving again:rolleyes: Thank god the kitchen is still cold and I have now got the freezer bit on the fridge working but the fridge itself seems to be confused as it doesnt seem to switch on or off like it used to:rolleyes:

The snow and ice even featured on a special BBC programme this morning. I havent ventured out further than the bin today (someone must have moved out because the bin area was full of boxes, an old sofa and a couple of beds and all 3 bins were filled to overflowing...why can't these people walk to the paper bank to dump their boxes or at least flatten them before dumping them in the bin:mad:

I have the onset of the sniffles - my ex hubby has a streaming cold so I probably won't be going over there to see him, I can't go to my parents because I don't want dad to get ill (I can't go when I have the sniffles and as ex hubby is also ill neither of us will be allowed to visit). We had another sprinkling of snow last night but the carpark and private roadway are like ice rinks and I don't fancy reversing out and slamming into walls and other vehicles:eek:

Hope you feel better soon Tixy and Numpts. As for cars..I quite fancy a 4x4 and will even settle for a plain red landrover like Kirstie Allsopp.

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Before I pluck up the courage for shopping.

On my daughter's advice I have 'passed' on my scheduled shopping trip. ASDA are open till midnight, and Tesco are open all night, so I might venture out later. ;)

Not ventured further than the bin today.

Its still freezing cold here and I wish we could have a proper dumping of snow and then things can go back to normal. I should have guessed that this winter was going to be bad because there are more berries around on the trees and on the holly in particular which apparently has more berries this year than at any time previously:eek: More berries means a harder winter.

Numpty - poor you having a cat inviting itself in..be careful that it doesnt adopt you or your life will never be the same again:eek:

Thanks for the happy dust Lula it was much appreciated.
